I see full kit people (mostly women) all the time. There's an official UFC Gym by my house. Poor schmucks must get conned into buying.
 
Just tell him how sweet his outfit is and that you were planning on getting one yourself. Then ask him if he would get a future discount for referring someone. If he truly trains UFC, dude will be your best friend.
