Magny defended himself. And it also definitely could have been stopped in the second when Lombard was most certainly NOT defending himself.

Magny is seriously one of the most likeable characters in MMA. Such a nice, humble dude.

Neil has a mental toughness that cannot be taught. He defended very well to weather Hector's onslaught. I'm not sure why some were thinking it should've been stopped when Neil defended intelligently and ended the round picking Hector apart on the feet. He knows how to handle adversity, that's a massive advantage in fighting. It may not win you every fight, but it can make for an excellent career.

Everything about that fight was amazing except for the 40 unanswered shots. I really thought Magny was getting finished in the 1st, but it didn't stop me from chanting "come on, Magny!" over and over though ... so glad he pulled through!

I was about to say - if anyone is calling for Lombard to get the stoppage in the first, you have to say they could have stopped it in the second on at least 3 occasions.
Personally I could not fathom Magny having to look at the referee and ask him why he isn't stopping it when he's in back mount landing his 30th punch unanswered to the opponent sitting frozen.

Good call. The big question going in was if Magny could survive until Lombard gassed and get a decision. But after the initial onslaught he did a lot more that survive.
He is improving every time out. He looked as dangerous as I have seen him on the feet and looked awesome on the ground.
What a fun guy to be a fan of. I expected him to be like Cowboy where he gets a lot of wins but won't crack the elite. But he may have the potential to go all the way.

I agree ive been a fan of Neil's for a while because just like you said he improves fight to fight , some posters call him boring personally i enjoy his fights .
Not to mention that he doesn't back down from fights he called out Story who IMO is one of the tougher fights for anyone in the division and also takes on fighters most fighters steer clear of in Maia and Lombard
