Just saw the video and any form of animal abuse sucks even though this was very minimal. I've seen assholes kick the fuck out of their cats and dogs.

but how does one cancel someone who essentially does nothing but be an instagram/tiktok star? Cancelling Hasbulla would be even more impossible than canceling Conor or Dana.

If you look at his metrics they're only rising exponentially every day.

For one, he has a very small stature, those blows are not that painful at all to the cat. Keeping that in mind, he may have been disciplining it. Light physical corrections are not everyone's cup of tea, but some people do employ them for training.

Two, people in Russia have less developed views on animals in general, especially among the native populations in the Caucasus. Hence, Khabib wrestling the bear. When they're small, the bears are used as pets. When they get larger, they get sold off and kept in small cages in poor conditions for the amusement of people. Animals are often treated roughly. That's just the reality of life over there.

Three, (some) people in western countries have gone so overboard with their fetishization of animals that they freak out anytime they see an animal endure the slightest discomfort. Some people even balk about the fact that you don't let your dog climb into bed with you, or that you don't treat your dog better than most humans get treated. These same people often couldn't give a shit about their fellow human being.

Personally, I view this kind of fetishization of animals over people as the sign of an emotionally underdeveloped narcissist, but c'est la vie
