Why does it seem like the UFC have so many superstars yet there have been no memorable fights lately?

I can't remember any fights recently that is worth rewatching. There have been no "crowning" moments. What the fuck happened?

One thing I don't get, rumour has it they are wanting to match up Darren till and Gunnar Nelson, I cannot understand why you put someone like till who has been on a tear and one of the rising prospects in the WW division against someone who just got KO'd in his last fight and hasn't been all that impressive lately, why not do till vs ponzinibio?

UFC is lackluster lately.
the journalists GOSSIP like women
The fighters complain all the time
Undercards are less than compelling

It's simple, WME is being cheap. Don't blame it on the fighters.

WME is playing hard ball with the top fighters....the top fighters aren't going to just give in so they're filling the cards with bums who they can pay peanuts

facts

Gaethje vs Johnson
Gaethje vs Alvarez
Poirier vs Alvarez
Poirier vs Pettis
Oliveira vs Medeiros
Gillespie vs Gonzalez

These off from the top of my head are the best fights I have ever seen, and they are all recent.
If you think UFC is lackluster these days you aren't paying enough attention.

You are going to pretend the last few events didn't happen?

UFC on Fox Stephens/Emmett
UFC Fight Night Cowboy/Medeiros
UFC 221 Romero/Rockhold

Too many marijuanas for you

I've seen plenty of exciting fights. hard to reach fights when there are over 60 fights a month

And I’m hoping the streak continues with the fights tonight I think they’ll be exciting... people who don’t watch a ton of fights just don’t know the names but ufc has been good matchups for the hardcore fans

UFC has been down lately period. Most of the fighters are holding out as much as they can for big paydays. WME has never caught up on filling cards in a timely manner. Many of the titles and the pecking order for each have not been clearly identified by WME. Number one contender fights are largely a thing of the past. WME simply sucks at building narratives. They don't invest in their contenders/anticipate who will be filling out main events and co-mains a year out.

It’s not the matchmaking, the fights have been great. Lack of superstars, and sometimes promoting the wrong people

They've been putting good fights together but only 1 or 2 per card. Cards used to be stacked
