Has there ever been a fighter that exploded to the scene like Khamzat and then just disappeared?

It is a fairly unique situation. I don't think anyone has ever been so destroyed by a win like Khamzat, that win over Burns shattered his delusional sense of superiority. He honestly stated after the fight he had no idea top fighters were that tough and never thought it was possible that they could hurt him.

Even though Khamzat won the fight, Burns broke him mentally showing him he is nothing like Khabib, his wrestling is shit at that level and his striking is even worse with little chance of competing against the next level of opponents. And now at this point has pretty much made a mockery of himself with everyone actually looking to make a fight realizing they need to look elsewhere because he is a joke that doesn't want to fight.
Lol Sherdog psychologists at it again. You all act like he didn’t just dust Kevin Holland who never land a punch in September. You’re all act like he went into hiding and never competed again.

Khamzat fumbled the bag with Nate Diaz. That fight was supposed to project him into stardom and he missed weight.

I think he’s officially transitioning to MW and putting on some muscle mass. I’m looking forward to his fight with Costa.

Lol that’s what happens when all his competition is afraid to fight him.

he’ll be back again soon enough and he’ll be a big favorite over his opponent

Seems likes he's been running scared from Costa.

Khamzat is a problem child, isn't he?

The UFC hyped him to the moon. He would repay them by missing weight BADLY. 8 pounds over or something?

Then didn't he start a riot in Abu Dhabi against Islam's corner?

It terms of business, Khamzat is a BAD INVESTMENT

Karimula Barkalaev
But you gotta be pretty old to remember that guy

Israel said it best

Makes sense for Izzy, does not make sense for a fan.

Costa is the one that has been turning down fights. First Whittaker, then Jan, if the UFC actually offered Costa and Khamzat to fight each other, I'm pretty sure if there was one who declined, it would be Costa.

You're acting as if he wasn't supposed to be fighting Nate that night.

He literally smashed Holland in his next fight..and Burns beats every welterweight not named Usman...casual

pereira run seemed more impressive, He chose a path to the top and stuck with it from UFC debut to champ in 2 years.

Yes the UFC helped him for fights to his style, The ufc would of done the same with Khamzat.

Who knows what's going on if its him, his management, coach or the UFC
they helped him a little… not that much tho. strickland was probably getting a title shot if he won. pereira beat him so it’s perfectly justifiable that he got one.
