With Floyd retired PBC bleeding money and HBO cutting their budget it seem like MMA (UFC) is the bigger sport right now. Especially after selling 1.5 million PPV's. I would have to say boxing is bigger globally though.

1.5 Million? Where are you getting that number from? I doubt it did over 850-900k.

Also the 3 out of the last 4 PPV's craked 1,000,000 buys.

11/15/2015 UFC 193 Rousey vs Holm 1,100,000
12/12/2015 UFC 194 Aldo vs McGregor 1,200,000
01/02/2016 UFC 195 Lawler vs Condit 300,000
03/05/2016 UFC 196 McGregor vs Diaz 1,500,000

The UFC also seems to be beating boxing's television ratings too. I'm not trying to trash boxing either I have HBO and Showtime specifically for boxing, but so far in 2016 the UFC seems to be passing it up.

In the United states yes, but I would say boxing is far bigger on a global scale. The UFC is years away from competing with boxing on a global scale, decades I would say.

The guy who is most trusted by MMA fans to report the UFC's PPV numbers also falls for satirical fake news stories regarding his own sport.

So what are you trying to say you don't believe the numbers?

This is 100% true.

Especially starting from the 2nd half of 2015.

Danny Garcia on Fox was supposed to be really good numbers, yet still gets beat out by Ryan Bader on Fox a week later.

I would say in certain areas of the US yes . But overall , boxing in the US is still bigger . Gambling wise , popularity, money and recognition .

The ppv listed for the UFC are worldwide ppv numbers Meltzer has said that and confirmed it

If boxing fixed its issues it would still be top dog here in the states. Will always be the big brother to mma though and other combat sports.

I do think a boxing megafight will outdo any UFC numbers today though, except UFC 200.

Canelo/GGG and Deontay/Fury should easily top 1.4 million

That's because fans are starved for them.

Well it's official looks like boxing is bigger than mma in the USA

Poll has confirmed it at 510 pst

Source? Also I thought the PPV model only existed for The U.S. and Canada. The fights are on Networks everywhere else in the world.

That is what I am saying.

You just posted a whole list of unsourced numbers, except for a link with Dana White (lol) claiming his own PPV numbers.

The UFC is a private company so they are under no legal pressure to be honest. They lie about things constantly, as everyone in the heavies points out on a daily basis, but you believe Dana White honestly reports his own PPV?

There is a level of silliness to that.

Dana "hints" does not equal fact. Do you have a third party source that can confirm the numbers?

Dana White said it lol

Just like UFC fans were running around exaggerating the sales for 189 as over a million because Conor had it in his UFC.com bio.

Not at all.

Do you really think he would lie about that? When the numbers come out he would just have egg on his face. News sites are reporting it. I'm a boxing fan too, but you are just in denial.

Also buys does not equal popularity.

GGG is pretty popular and did crap numbers.

However moments after Deontay destroyed Szpilka, he was on the first page for like 10 minutes. Then Ronda made a tweet and the news pushed Deontay back to the 2nd page. Thats how big MMA is compared to boxing.
