With age and the injury has his hand slowed or stayed about the same.

Just saw this and he still look fast but doenst seemed to have the POP to it. Of course could just be the end of the session and him being tried and shit.

One of my fav heavy bag vid from 6yrs ago.

Can watch that alll day

He is just working out, he is not trying to kill the bag. So that clip is not hard evidence of anything other than he is a 36-year old getting a work out.

That being said, of course his hand-speed and pop have decreased. The guy is 36 years old and has 65 professional fights. He has been on a slight decline steadily since the Margarito fight, as you would expect for a man that age, and then hit a sharper decline following the brutal knockout, as you would expect for a man that had been knocked out.

He is an underrated boxer and a great athlete, which is why he can still compete with the highest level (prime) fighters in the sport. But a lot of the "Manny hasn't changed one bit" hype (and the same for Mayweather) was just to make sure the Mayweather fight still had the aura it once did.

2016 Pacquiao would get wrecked by 2009 Pacquiao. Anybody that claims otherwise is selling something.

How do you think 2016 vs 2004-5 Manny would do. Do you think 2016 Manny's IQ and exp would be enough to beat left hand power punching Manny.

2016 Manny loses to 2004-5 Manny but
2016 Manny ends 1994 Manny no doubt

I don't think you can really compare them because in 2004 Manny was a featherweight. He was a giant featherweight, but a featherweight nonetheless. 2016 Manny might hurt him based on size and strength alone. You are right that he also was not a very polished boxer at all in 2004.

It's amazing that the guy was a champion in 2004 and we are still talking about him as a top-fighter. How many guys can remain a great fighter for well over a decade?

In before Cuban, Dejulez and Xcunt to come into this thread and tard it all up with their anti Pacquiao bull$hit.

2005 pacquiao would need to make sure he was wearing the right socks to beat 2016 pacquiao. For realz.

definitely lost some of his old speed and power, but the thing that i think he lost most was his output and killer instinct

Interesting fact:
Manny Pacquiao's hand speed proved the quantum theory of nonlocality.

Is 2016 Pacquiao allowed to take his anti-inflammatory shot in the locker room?

Still has pretty fast hands but his work rate is not what it once was.

No but he can bring his mum to ringside with her hexes.

Can the 2005 version of Manny bring HIS mom with her hexes too tho? One would thinks she has grown in power with age, maybe the older version could outhex the younger one..

No but he can bring his mum to ringside with her hexes.

If 2005 Manny has the right socks and 2016 Manny has his mother present then it all comes down to 2005 Manny having his Cleto Reyes and 2016 Manny having calve cramps.

Def slowed, but this is the first week of camp.. he'll prob look better close to the fight

I think 07-10 Pacquiao was the best blend of boxing skills, IQ, and physical abilities. If we took 04 era Pacquiao with his physical abilities and skills and put him in a WW body (even at FW he was weighing in on fight night in the 140s so the difference in size might not be as drastic as people think), I think he would be more dominant against some mid level opposition (he'd be stopping the likes of Algieri and Rios), but would have more trouble against the better opposition. That 04 Pacquiao probably wouldn't beat Cotto or Margarito as he needed his much improved boxing skills in those fights. Head to head (which is getting ridiculous, but whatever), I think I'd take the older Pacquiao (at least the one we saw against Rios and Algieri) to win as he still did have most of his physical abilities largely intact minus his freakish stamina, and he had the boxing ability and smarts that he lacked earlier in his career.

The way he punching the bag, is that the way we are supposed to punch it? close, hands low, fast and the last hit hard?

have you ever seen his fight against Sasakul? It's incredible how much Manny has progressed. FlW Manny was being embarrassed by Sasakul until he landed something of a hail mary punch. No ring generalship whatsoever, wild punches. Granted, Sasakul is slick and a pretty good fighter, but still, Pac looked totally lost.
