Has LHW surprisingly become the most interesting division ?

I see why some would think so.

Some fans think it's weaker b/c Jones is gone. And therefore that makes it less interesting. I can see why.

Other fans find the more competitive nature more interesting. There's more parity, now that Jones is gone, and therefore that makes it more interesting. I can see why.

This happened in 125 when DJ and then CCC left. Suddenly there was a vacuum, and many found the prior dominance stale and the new lifeblood interesting, even if they could admit that the skill was a step down. There's a strong argument it also happened at 170 after GSP v Hendricks (but this is not as apples-to-apples as the 125 comparison).

I don't think it's more interesting because Jones left though. Jones had trouble against tall guys like Reyes or Santos. I think Hill, Ankalaev or Jiri wouldn't have been easy match ups. Current LHW is really underestimated

The fact Walker is back shows how weak the division is.

Rakic, Jan, Ankalaev, Jiri.. they could all be champ. It's not a high level division, but it's fun because the top 5 is really competitive amongst themselves

Why everything is black or white in here ? Why can't styles matter, why can't fighters evolve, why can't WE aknowledge the uncertainty of fights in MMA.. it doesn't have to be either amazing or dog shit.

Yeah DC was an all time great. But Gus blew his career himself. And longevity matters as much as talent

I don't really give a fuck if the division is historically weak. I want dope matchups and uncertainty everytime the belt is contested.

Just kidding... I'm the old fart here, but I do know how to see the glass two thirds full. The days of Jones and DC running over everyone else is done and I'm glad for it. Yes, we were seeing all time greats for a while, but man it lacked any mystery the last 5 years of their reign. We know DC would beat anyone but Jones, and Jones would beat anyone but the court system.

The current LWH picture painted by TS is valid. It's not just a bunch of nobodies who have losses to random cans. These top guys have a lot of legit wins and very few losses (to other top guys only). It's a very good division right now, definitely more interesting than the latter portion of Jones/DC reigns when no one cared about LWH except when Jones/DC would move up to HW.

It has been stacked for awhile but Jan and Glovers cinderella runs and Anthony Smiths inexplicable relevance made the division seem worse than it was. Certainly delayed this era from getting started for a few years but the pieces have been there for quite awhile now.

A year or two back you had guys in the 10-15 range like Jimmy Crute getting a level of hype you really don't see in a lot of divisions.

LHW is supposedly weak but Weidman, Rockhold, Adesanya tried their luck and got sent back to where they came from. Oh and if they don't have any grappling over there, Poatan should become champ in no time right ? I think Rakic, Jiri, Hill, Jan, Ankalaev are great names and the fact that there is no Adesanya, Jon Jones, or Khabib there makes us think it's shallow. It's my personal opinion but i don't think so, even though i agree there are some inconsistent fighters like Craig or Walker. That doesn't mean we won't have interesting and competitive fights

Oh compared to current Mw Lhw is decent/good.
The division is not that bad it just plaes in comparaison to the glory days with Jones,Dc,Rumble and Gus.
