Has Johnny Walker Reached his Ceiling?

He had some flashy KOs, that is it. Dude doesn't have what it takes mentally.

Not only mentally, but he relied too much on the big actions.
He never uses his length, his jab sucks.

That really plays into the fact that people can collapse his space.
A decent jab and teep would keep fights at HIS range but he never does that unfortunately lol

The guy is a glass cannon extrordinare.

Which means he won't ever be champion, but will always put on exciting fights.

He's worth keeping around for increasing the KOs on cards. Like overeem, a stiff wind sends him to sleep, so his brain will probably be alright long term.

If Johnny Walker reaches his ceiling, he has to make sure not to hit it too hard or he might get knocked out

He saw too many action movies.

He is fun to watch, but he is far too open, not a good defense and he seems too fine with losing, if you notice after every loss he makes videos making funny faces and saying funny things and clowning etc etc.. he just never seems disappointed or upset that he has been knocked out and lost.

I just dont think his flashy style works at the higher levels, and his chin cant sustain that kind of style anyway. What he was trying to do against Ankalaev... he cant keep that up for 5 rounds, and Ank still won the first rd against him anyway before finishing him in the second.

I have never seen a fighter telegraph a strike as badly as Johnny Walker was telegraphing the spinning backfist last night.

I don't know how where he got the idea to spam wild and brutally ovbious spinning backfists instead of jabs, but I have my doubts as to the effectiveness of that particular strategy.
Ank is like the worst guy to do that against. He is one of the best counter strikers in the sport, and patient at that. All that spammy spinny shit....you cant do that for 5 rds

I think he really overachieved. He beat Paul Craig who is virtually harmless on the feet and Cutelaba who is untalented. He's the only guy to lose to a post Jones Santos and got slept comically by Anderson and Hill. I remember picking Smith to beat him but I was geniunely unimpressed by Walker outpointing a clearly washed Smith. I'm glad he got slept because he's not a real top contender and would have been by FAR the easiest possible matchup for Alex Periera

Yes he has many holes in the dry wall ceiling of his apartment.

His striking looked aimless against Ankaleev. Aside from pressure and some crazy explosive strikes, it didn't seem like he had much to offer. And his defense isn't great either.

Seems like one of those guys that has the physical tools, but will never figure it out. I put him in the Melvin Guillard, Phil Hawes, Brandon Vera etc. category.

Aspinall is the authority on ceilings. Also are we talking acoustic, popcorn, or suspended?
