It’s good but it’s very B movie-ish and not on the level of Carpenter one. it’s not a case of bad being remade into good but it’s certainly an example of remake being better than the original.

Another such example would be The Fly.

I wouldn't call either shitty, but what is yalls opinion on Manhunter vs Red Dragon?

Manhunter is an 80s classic with the best Hannibal L portrayal on film.

Red Dragon is a passable popcorn film which is completely unnecessary.
