Notice Shamrocks hand placement on top of the head? Very bad technique. Always go behind the head, make a fist, and bury that shit deep so they can’t strip it.

It is because his hand is on top of his head as opposed to behind it and his other elbow should be under the chin. The way he is doing it is like a professional wrestling sleeper hold, it will choke out, but much slower than a fully and properly applied RNC.

A lot of people in MMA do not apply it properly, which means they are going to rely on grip strength and endurance. Or sometimes, if they are using their forearms, they are actually crushing the windpipe.
