Keep an eye on the Vive subreddit, if they start rolling out demo units in stores it'll likely get posted there. I know Currys in the UK had some up for much of march, but no idea about US locations.Ha, I was actually thinking about making a VR thread when I was reading reviews for this today.
Vive and Rift both got amazing reviews, which is awesome to see. I won't be buying a Vive, but I NEED to find a store where I can try this shit.
Chances are if they did you wouldn't be able to actually get a machine together capable of running it. At least not with the current techniques. Eye tracking and foveated rendering shit would help, but still, 4k at 90fps is a hell of a lot of power. Even more so considering current implementations don't work well with sli/xfire.I have alot of space for the Vive. I just don't want to buy one and have them release a 4k version 6 months from now.

Yeah. And of all the issues with the tech, the screen door effect is probably the one I notice the least. Bit higher resolution to enable higher FOV would be nice, but 4k would be overkill. The markets going to be small enough with the GTX970 being the minimum spec, 4K VR just isn't a realistic prospect ATM.

Just the two Rift dev kits.Which VR headsets you tried so far?
Just the two Rift dev kits.
I owned 5 laptops and two tablets when I spent $1500 on the surface pro 4 because I wanted to fuck around with the pen. My friends and family are way beyond giving me shit for spending a k on VR.
