Has anyone here sat ringside?

I photographed fights for IFL and Bodog. These were rings so I leaned on the apron to take the photos.

I was so spoiled by doing that for free, that I didnt really want to go to events as a regular schmuck and sit in the nosebleeds. I still go to local smaller events though.

Have you gone to any CES events in Connecticut dude?

Nope. I went there for EliteXC and IFl,at the Mohegan, and some other event that wound up getting cancelled...and that was like 15 yrs ago. I dont do the photog/journo stuff anymore. Was doin that for a 3 yr period only.

Coolio.

i've never been cage side but I've been cage level a couple rows back (sf: hendo v babalu 2.) and I would think that some grappling exchanges would be hard to assess as a jduge. Hell the pillar angle made it hard for us to realize that Lawler had starched Stanky for a couple seconds.

as far as seating recommendation:
the best views are probably mid 100 level seats...

I've sat ringside. Even at best, the view isn't great. It's awesome being so close but at times you can't see hardly anything. Like when it's on the mat on the opposite side. Beat place ever is the small place in Vegas. Not a bad seat in the house.

Its a cool view, specially if ur right behind Dana w/ a big boxing event happening on the same night...2 for the price of 1

I believe the judges are sitting slightly closer than the commentary team but without the benefit of any video monitors to distract them.

They are purposely placed on 3 separate sides of the cage to have different angles on the action.

Most notably at least that I can recall there was the incident in the Mayra Bueno Silva vs Stephanie Egger fight where Mayra did an armbar and let go of it but the ref and the cameras couldn't see the tap. The ref polled the judges and Big John McCarthy's son Ron, who was working as a judge for that fight, saw the tap because he sitting 5 feet away, so it went down as a submission win.

If only they could let PPV buyers vote electronically on the score cards whenever it goes to a split decision. 1 last chance for the general paying audience to set the record straight. But then Republican fight fans would start crying about rigged votes.

If your name sounds like Batgirl, you'd better be impressive.

But then how would the tranny's feel?

I sat like 5 rows back when Matt Lindland crushed Carlos Newton, but it was difficult to see what was happening at times.

I know the owner of the WFC, a regional MMA Organization. He was kind enough to get me ringside tickets. I sat next to a judge and the ring girls were right above me. The refs in the UFC were some of the same ones at this event near Laughlin, NV. It was pretty sweet.

I did at Pride. Literally in amongst BTT. Was surreal. It wasn't a better view. But a much more emersed experience.

The democrats would cry about the voting system itself. Cry about electoral college and show their racism somehow.

Does your employer give you tickets or something?

Strongly disagree about cage-side seating though. I had floor seats for Gus versus Rumble, and yeah, I'd agree with what you said if applied to floor seats. But being right at the front was easily the coolest, most surreal, immersive, and memorable experoence I've had. Box seats make people feel special since they're being catered to by staff, I've sat there for hockey games, but I as far as a live viewing experience goes I think it's real lame.

I was the biggest ufc promoter in Canada for over 10 years ….. biggest boxing pro motor in Canada still to date .

unfortunately ufc thought they were over paying me at contract renewal and went with a new company for a 3 year contract …. And their numbers and sales in Canada have never been worse haha karma !

O well no hard feelings towards them - they treated me very good for a long time ! …. I have some sweet personalized gifts from
Them aswell - and even a personalized note from Dana himself with a Christmas gift .

As far as the cageside experience ….. yes it was really kool to feel the energy …. But terrible view …. And I can remember going to the washroom to piss and missing like 30 minutes caz the line was ridiculous lol .

I once shared a box with Dana , shogun , Florian , gsp …..the catering was amazing hahah …. I have some kool pics from it .

I remember I have the coolest pic top from the event shogun knocked out machida ….. I had VIP all access pass and I was told not to swarm the fighters until
After their interviews …… I ran to shogun so fast after that knockout and shook his hand with a beer in my hand before his interview - too funny !! Lol

Good memories - goodtimes!

I've gone to 2 ufc events

I much prefer watching from home, to be honest

Pro wrestling is much more fun to watch live than MMA is IMO[/QUOTE

I agree
I don’t know if you’re joking about pro wrestling but I took my 2 boys to a raw and a smack down in the last year and it was the best live sporting event I’ve been too. We had a blast.
