Has anybody ever got into Ralph Bakshi's animated movies. If so which one is the best?

I have an unadulterated love for Fire and Ice. A movie with the aim of making Frazetta's paintings come alive. It's so... unbelivable awesome. Such a perfect Sword and Sorcery film.

Wizards is really fun in how imaginative and... uhh... gobsmackingly spastic it is. Not every day you see the hordes of evil broadcast videos of Hitler to terrify their elfin enemies. Coonskin has that Bakshi-esque depravity and is a rather... interesting depiction of race in America. The Lord of the Rings is rather oddly stitched together but dammit if it isn't awesome as well.

Fritz the Cat is to dirty to talk about.

Cool World I can barely remember so I guess I didn't like it all that much. One of those movies that was severely truncated by the studio.

While I think Coonskin is his greatest achievement, I actually love his version of LOTR. I used to watch it on acid a lot.

I've only seen Cool World, but I enjoyed it and thought it was pretty imaginative. The mixture of live action and animation was interesting.

Plus, we got Brad Pitt before he was really Brad Pitt and Kim Basinger looking pretty hot--both in animated form as actual human form.

Have you ever seen The Fantastic Planet? It's pretty sweet on it's own, but it makes for a great Acid flick.

I really like his version of LOTR and wish he would have finished it with a second movie. Though the rotoscoping over real film is pretty bad.

Love his work. The Art, especially the rotos oping. The storytelling. That 1970s NYC feel throughout.

American Pop might be my favorite.
