this kid was at the top of the LW pool and he was beaten in to irrelevance in a split decision loss too Maynard
I don't think he was ever considered a top lightweight to be honest. The Guy's reputation rested on being an exciting fighter.
Meh His "run" in the UFC was carefully constructed, they tried to build him into something he wasn't and when he fought upper/mid level LWs he struggled and lost.
Yea he made his career by putting on exciting fights against lower level guys. Was losing to Guida before he caught him in the 3rd round. Looked good against KenFlo and Gray but then it seemed like the fame got to his head. He looked like shit in his Bellator fights, don't know how the fuck he lost to War Machine.
melivn guillard houston alexander thiago silva brandon vera josh grispi gabe gonzaga cro cop (once he got in the ufc)
No because he was never considered a top LW....he had a pretty face that got the UFC's shoe in the door step of Sports Illustrated back in 2007, thats it LOL.
Could have something to do with war machine cutting weight to fight at 170, while huerta walked around at 165 lbs.
His fight against guida was good Also his "chachi" good looks helped him out He was modelling for SI etc
