Has a fighter ever complained about a late stoppage?

Same with Jacare over Weidman, but I think TS was talking about a LOSING fighter complaining about the fight being stopped too late.

Ahhh in the case I don't remember ever seeing one. Man that would be pretty damning if it was a losing fighter complaining about a late stoppage

Sonnen said when he retired against fedor in the poat fight interview he wished the referee had stoped the fight earlier, but he didn't say anything to the ref.

Edit: my bad it was against lyoto
That wasn't really what he said, if you watch the video he was saying that tongue in cheek. It was his way of saying Machida was better than him.

He said he had fired his last shot, he even said " im not as tough as i was" meaning he had fired his last shot and didn't had that fighter mentality anymore. Not that there is anything wrong with that, this people are human everyone just " gives up" at something one day.

Yeah, but that was him talking about why he retired. He wasn't saying the fight should have been stopped earlier, he was saying that an earlier version of himself could have gotten out of some of the positions Machida had him in.

True but he said in the same interview " when the referre stoped it i was like, why did it take you so long? " thats basically saying he tought the referee took to long to stop the fight, although as i said he did not complain to the referee in the fight.

I remember Roy Nelson push-kicked McCarthy in the Bigfoot fight because he thought the stoppage was too late. He got in a lot of shit for it but honestly I don't really blame him. Dude was mad because the ref was essentially forcing him to keep delivering punishment to a friend who was done

It would have served him right if Bigfoot had used the respite to gather his wits and make a comeback.

Not that I know of, but then again...they would have tapped, verbally quit, or rolled up in a ball to give up if they wanted it to stop

See the post just below yours.
That's the scenario where it makes sense to me for a fighter to complain about a late stoppage: not that the referee failed to second-guess him, but that he didn't react to the tap.

Wasn't Nelson angry about his stoppage of Bigfoot not being stopped sooner.

Im pretty sure he stealth fucked the ref after the stoppage.

Edit. Realised I did not read.

This doesn't exactly meet your question but its really close.

After DC KO'd Stipe, I remember Stipe saying to one of his coaches, "did I take any shots when I was out?"... "yeah a few"

Then he said something like damn

Frank not too happy:

I'm pretty sure bob Sapp probably complained a couple times . And I know ryan Jensen wasn't happy he had to tap twice to strikes against mark Munoz. ( Mario reffing)
