Hardys salary

Hardy only made 150K? Being an "A level" athlete from the NFL, he's got to be thinking WTF am I doing here?

Hardy fights for the UFC because he has no other options in life. Pretty much like the rest of the roster. That's why he makes such relative chump change.
Why would he be suprised? He signed the contract without a gun to his head just like the rest of the roster. They all know what they are getting themselves into.

NFL rejects take notice. Easy money until you get a live body. UFC seems so happy to have a dude that couldn't hack it in the NFL. Not like Hardy was some special player. How many former NFL players who got cut are there? Tons.
lot of the ones that got cut lacked the skill to compete in nfl. It wasn't due to lack of athleticism which they clearly possess.

I long ago stopped getting my panties in a bunch about UFC fighter pay. Life isn't fair. Why in the world would UFC pay be any different?

It's always like the UFC pays to keep people who make them money. Scummy or not the UFC is a business not a charity
I hate these stupid threads but I have to say I can't recall them being made after the UFC paid James Toney the same amount or more than the entire rest of the card made combined (with the exception of Randy) to come in for one night out of shape and not taking it the least bit serious.

Lol, the good old days!!

Hardy's pay is on the front page of Sherdog.

Lol yea I'm sure Hardy is calling up his wife and telling her to bust out the red panties because they finally made it on the front page of sherdog. Lol

The source I was asking for is some sort of boost in viewers when Hardy is on a card, so far i havent seen anything special with the cards he's on.

It's no different than any other draw getting paid. The joker could have refused the amount, but he doesn't have the name recognition so the ufc can't make as much off him. All fighters that come in from other sports bringing fans with them get paid. At least he put on a show.. Or his opponent failed too. If anyone made to much it was the guy he fought, who got a paycheck and looked like shit. Easy win for their hw draw of the future with padded record vs mediocre competition included at no additional cost.

Dude got popular for beating a woman and is now making bank fighting cans Haha the joke is on us boys

If you increase the viewership, you get paid more. An former NFL star, albeit tainted, brings WAY FUCKING MORE EYEBALLS than just about anyone else. That's just the way it is.

Nobody knows who the fuck Greg Hardy is lol. He had ONE good season and made the pro bowl, other than that he never started a complete season in the NFL, not to mention he only played 5 seasons. Most people have no clue who this guy is they just heard he was a former football player. More people know him for his domestic abuse issues than his football career so don't give me that "oh he's a former NFL star he deserves more money" He was never a fucking star. ONE pro bowl in 5-6 seasons is not close to a star.

Since we don't see figures for espn+ events we don't know if Hardy's brought in the viewers. I would have thought he'd have been getting more than that though.

You forgot to mention his 40yd time

Anders raw athl. is C-D level.

He has heart, a tough guy (perfect for MMA), but you have 100000 NFL guys who are tough + heart ... he wasnt athletic enough.

90% of the time thats the biggest reason.

how do you judge that though? based on?
depends on the position he played too.

They agree to a fight fee per fight when they sign a multi-fight contract, not minutes before the event. When you bring more eyeballs to the table, you have more negotiating leverage. It's not rocket surgery junior.

looks like you need this one too

Getting paid the most don't mean you are the bigger draw. Come'on retard.

Forget the books. You need this instead:

So you are saying that Hardy was the biggest draw since he got paid more, yet why didn't they make his fight the main event? Seems like the whole point of having the main event is to showcase the biggest draw of the night. Also you need to sue callahan institute since your stay there has done nothing but make you more retarded.

Teh Outlaw is worth every penny. Give him a raise, ffs.

Is it odd that I was seriously wondering why people gave a shit how much Dan Hardy was being paid?

His pay isn't based soley on his drawing ability right now.

They are likely banking on him become a big draw in the future.

You've got a guy who's used to making much more money. So to get him to agree to sign with you long term you're going to have to overpay him at the front end and hope he develops accproding to the plan and it pays off on the back end.

If they offered him 30K a fight then an org desperate for any kind of big name like Bellator would overpay for him and you lose a future potential star.

Is he a better fight than Hermansson? Not by a long shot, but, we know that's not what gets you paid in the UFC.
