guard passing is known as the most difficult thing to do in jiu jitsu at good levels its my fav thing to do tbh de to the set ups and the flow of it vs other positions a lot of times when I pass ill let them re guard to work passing again also is the most demanding as far as cardio goes so what guard do you think is the hardest to get past that annoys you? to me its knee shield then reverse de la riva

I hate passing closed just because it's such a process. It's not even that hard. Just annoying.

RDLR combined with either a spider or lasso hook always annoys the shit out of me.
I used to have a hard time with 5050 but now days I'm usually willing to expose my back a little bit to get free or pass and since then it's become a little easier although sometimes I pay a price for it. I think it's much easier to pass no-gi than gi even with the heel hook threat.

luckly dont fight many guys who play 5050 closed guard is very easy for me if you have strong base and posture i stand 90% of the time while controlling a arm if possible

I should amend my post. I don't think closed guard is very hard to pass but just annoying and time consuming because you have to break it first.

Closed guard, because you can do so many good things and one small adjustment, you are at square one again.

Surely closed, followed by spider.

Surely closed

The worst part about closed guard is that you don't even really "pass" it, you just escape it, at which point you've still got their open guard of choice to deal with. Closed is a literal whole second guard you have to deal with.

I have the hardest time passing someone with a good lasso guard.

I consider lasso a super annoying spider variant .... yeah it’s terrible to pass.

ts not to time consuming for me tbh i only stay there max 45 seconds when i get there marcelo stands straight up has great base and not worried about being swept cause he will react with post ect depending on what you do but you have to have solid fundamentals for that

yeah but luckkly if you were n closed alot and finally broke it hes usually as tired if not more than you having to use his legs and squeezing trying to break posture

i had issues with lasso back when iw as a blue early purple now i find it easy to deal with also not letting someone get that grip to begin with theres so many stages to which you can shut it down before it gets to there
