Yeah the shops have good clothes and I like the seafood restaurants in the area. The university campus is cool, up in the woods and the downtown area has some good spots too. I took my girl to a show at the Catalyst and we wandered around the area and found a nice wine bar.

New Bohemian Brewing and Humble Sea are choice hang outs in SC. Aside from being a decent place for get togethers, their beers are really decent.

Lost Boys was a good film, but it really achieved an iconic status after its release. People loved that movie. I liked it a lot, but it seemed like most people really, really liked it.

Spent my summers where they filmed it

A lot of my friends and I would go drinking in Santa Cruz in the summers. So many cool beaches out there. The boardwalk was fun. We would get hammered and have bonfires on the beaches, but in a different place. I remember dropping acid one time and going on some rides on the boardwalk, including the most vomit inducing ones. on purpose to see if I could handle it. Was hilarious. We used to go to amusement parks all fucked up a lot. Later, we would visit our friends at the university in Santa Cruz, and the dorms were just basically open air drug markets. They smelled like killer weed, and you could buy any fucking drug you wanted there. We just got weed and shrooms. Then, we would go hiking in the forest behind the university where they used to have a bunch of gnome statues and shit like that. Good times. Also, the Doobie Brothers (band) are mostly from that area. I can relate to a lot of their songs because they are so Santa Cruz. They used to be the house band at a Hell's Angel's bar in the mountains around Santa Cruz.
