I agree 100%. Thing is, I fully support the right of Israel to exist, but until they allow for a free Palestinian state, they can't demand the world accept them. Gaza Ground Ops Will Bring "Unacceptable" Civilian Casualties: Putin
"The most important thing now is to stop the bloodshed," President Putin said, adding his country was "ready to coordinate with all constructive partners."

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that an expected Israel ground offensive in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip would lead to "unacceptable" civilian casualties.

"The use of heavy machinery in residential areas is a complex matter fraught with grave consequences," Vladimir Putin said in televised remarks, "most importantly, the civilian casualties will be absolutely unacceptable."

Russia has been carrying out what Moscow calls a military operation in Ukraine since February 2022, during which thousands of civilians are estimated to have died after strikes hit numerous residential areas across the country.

"The most important thing now is to stop the bloodshed," President Putin said, adding his country was "ready to coordinate with all constructive partners."

On October 7, hundreds of Hamas gunmen broke through the militarised border barrier around the Gaza Strip into Israel, killing more than 1,200 people and taking around 150 Israeli, foreign and dual-national hostages.

Israel has retaliated by hitting targets in Gaza with thousands of munitions, in strikes claiming more than 1,530 lives -- 500 of them children, according to the health ministry in Gaza.

Russia has so far carefully denounced violence from both sides and focused on blaming the US for the conflict.

"The fact that a large-scale tragedy happened there was the result of a failed US policy," President Putin said Friday.

At the start of his time at Russia's helm, first as prime minister and then president, Vladimir Putin oversaw the second war in Chechnya, which began in 1999 after Islamist militants from Chechnya staged a raid in Russia's region of Dagestan. The 10-year war killed thousands of civilians.

I'm not questioning the horror and abhorrence of killing civilians. What I was questioning was the lack of assistance from nearby Muslim nations. especially those with the means to do so.

I posted about it earlier in the week but I’ll say it again. They don’t give a shit. The massacres perpetuated against Palestinians in Muslim nations are numerous. They metaphorically post their flags in their bios but it’s not just Israel who have fucked the Palestinian people. Egypt has an excuse right now, the only viable boarder has been bombed numerous times this week but even without it they wouldn’t be letting them in. Aid can go in so why can’t people go out? I see people posting “they don’t want Hamas in their county” yet many of their exiled leader happily live in the UAE and the like. Palestinians and their cause have always been a useful tool for the idle rich and the political class. Those in power will be out already. It’s the average Palestinian who’s been living in a glorified prison all his/her life who in the coming days will be butchered.

Said it before I’ll say it again. Hamas don’t give a fuck about the 1000 killed in Gaza this week. Netanyahu does not give a fuck about the innocent civilians slaughtered in the weekend. In fact he’s sipping champagne and raising a toast to Hamas. Nearly a million Israelis marched in protest against his government a few months ago. Now they are unified in support for whatever him and his wretched comrades do.

I've told this story before...
I was born and raised in South Georgia, USA in 1969. My Mama took me to the local Doctor's office for my checkup for kindergarten. We had finished up and I was reading a "Highlights" magazine for kids (I could read before I went to school, thank you Sesame Street!). She said, "Come outside with me." I figured "Oh man, I'm gonna get it, I must've done something."

She took me to the back of the building and said, "I want you to look there and read that sign next to it." There was a bricked-up doorway and besides it on the ground was an old weather-beaten wooden sign that read "Colored entrance only." She said "When you were a baby, I couldn't bring you into the front door. It wasn't allowed. I want you to never forget what you're seeing here."

The Israel/Palestinian situation is a parallel of the civil right struggle of the 1960's here in the U.S.

No one engaged in violence to effect change for civil rights on a massive scale except to suppress it. Israel has done immeasurable damage to the Palestinian people, there's no denying that. But calling for the wholesale slaughter and destruction of Israel is not the way to change things. I don't support how Israel has treated Palestine in the past. To change things, both sides need to come to the table to talk and leave the hatred outside the door.
