There are strategic interests, and the rest is silly distraction.

Humans have separated ourselves into groups throughout our existence. And those groups have always found ways to have conflict with one another. This conflict obviously has a lot of moving parts and motivations, (religion, land, national security, humanitarian issues, etc) but in the end the group with more power always looks like the oppressors and the group with less power the oppressed.

If my choice is the US backed Israelis or the Iranians and their proxy groups having the bigger stick in this fight, I'll take the Israelis every fucking time. Doesn't make them "good guys". Doesn't mean they don't do extremely shitty and deplorable things to exert dominance. It's just the less shitty of two shitty choices.

it’s odd but I was actually just thinking about the hamas/Israel conflict the other day.

after watching what is happening over Ukraine with the Drone Wars. Imagine if Hamas were to cut back on their rocket making and went full ahead with drone warfare.

It would probably benefit Israel to take the gloves off. The only thing holding the forces trying to destroy Israel accountable, is Israel's responses to attacks.
