tbh this thread has stayed pretty good tho. Posters have been great about keeping criticisms to the Israeli government or hamas leaders rather than their ethnicities as a whole, and I’m just assuming in the context of war posts like “wipe them all out” are referring to the opposing soldiers and combatants and not civilians unless explicitly stated.

I didn't make them child soldiers. Israel did. They put the kids in harms way to get them killed, hoping to drum up outrage. If I get drafted to fight Russia in France, I can't get out of being killed by walking into battle holding a baby.

Israel should stop putting kids on stolen land as human shields.

Kids are always the victim of war, which is why you should try to keep kids away from the battlefield. The United States killed hundreds of thousands of kids between Libya, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

I wish I knew enough history and background to make sound conclusions based on the two prevailing and competing opions that Israel is :
A: Running a defacto apartheid state on the Palestinian people
B: Simply defending its country from hostile neighbors that want to see Israel destroyed

Whether it's one or the other or a much more nuanced situation, I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that some of the video coming out of the region is horrific and I wish I didn't watch some of it.

I am rooting for Hamas but I do not think they can defeat Israel. I hope there is something guiding Hamas's decision making other than desperation(IE the hope that Israeli society will rise up).
