Is this post endorsing the unprovoked attacks by Israel? They killed an American journalist you realize. I don't think anyone is claiming Hamas is "peace loving". But you do realize it only came to power because of Israeli occupation.

This is a surprise attack, and Hamas themselves freely admit this. Hamas initiated this escalation. They unilaterally launched "Operation Al-Aqsa Storm". They are responsible. They are the aggressors.

This is not a matter of subjective speculation. Hate Israel all you want, whine about settlements, and the West Bank, but this is a fact of the military conflict. Hamas started this.

i wonder how many people commenting in here have actually been to israel and to palestine.
i've been to jerusalem, tel aviv, ramallah, jericho, beit-el, and others.
americans probably can't imagine how small of a place this is. long and thin, with impressive infrastructure designed for fast troop logistics, wide highways surrounded by desert or dry hills where almost nothing grows. life there hangs on a very slender thread. and then you see the wall, and charred remains of cars around it, and you speak to people from both sides and realise this will NEVER end. not as long as one side still draws breath.
