You have to take down the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hamas for this to be possible. Even if you just exterminate Hamas, there isn't much insurance that terrorist groups would go away.

Also, Abbas is 89 now so he won't be able govern for another decade to suppress it if a two state solution gets fomented.

Look at the situation in the west bank, Hamas are not in power, the Abbas government are and what are we seeing? defacto Israeli rule, strong apartheid and the mass theft of land which hasnt been reversed with Lukid was not in power and general oppression which is carrying on right now. At best the Abbas government is totally powerless, at worst its actually collaborating with the Israelis in return to being propped up and funded.

This kind of claimed commitment to the two state solution which is never actually acted on and all the blame is put on the enemies of the Israelis.

I'm sorry but being opposed to mass war crimes of the last year isnt some case of extreme progressive moral purity, its a pretty basic moral position that the entire western world has claimed its built on post WW2. That such a basic moral position is something we need to compromise I think just highlights how dangerous modern centralist "liberalism" actually is, how corrosive of even such basic ideals it is. Its not even an idealy which lives up to its own claims of being "sensible", its actually the ideology of non compromise which everything is reduced to very simplistic "us and them" and no compromise is accepted. The truth is people like Sanders or Corbyn represented "compromise" but it was thrown in there faces by centralists who represent total capitulation.

This isn't true but for reasons different than Koya thinks. The unemployment and poverty rate is astonishingly high in the strip. Their entire economy banks on international aid entirely. The dictatorship of Hamas focuses on building rockets/tunnels and destroying Israel instead of manufacturing jobs, food plants, etc. to improve the community with that support....So Hamas has clearly shown to be virus to all of the those around them.

Spare me the moral lecturing. You probably didn’t even vote this election or voted for that clown, Jill Stein. Additionally, there have been numerous deals put forth yet rejected by the Palestinians. The Peel Commission, the 1948 lines, the 1968 lines, Olmert’s+Barak’s proposal, and Clinton perimeters. You nor the people that liked your post will acknowledge the failures of Palestinian diplomacy, Egypt’s wall or Black September.

A two state solution isn’t viable with Hamas governing the West Bank. There is a reason why Abbas hasn’t held elections there.

It’s a cluster fuck of a situation and Israeli Leadership should be held accountable for the war crimes that they committed if proven guilty as well.
