I think servers are over rated. Won't be surprised if they become more and more phased out with computers. Fine dining can keep them, I see no need for less fancy places to keep them. It's annoying I can't get my own drink to be honest.

If I order chips and dip, bring it first not with the meal. I forgot does not cut it. I want my food warm when it comes to the table. Doesn't need to be piping hot but room tempeture food does not cut it.

You sound like a very angry, miserable person tbh. I wouldn't be surprised if those expectations were an indication of a much larger problem dealing with a need to control.

Lighten up, man. Jesus. Not everything is going to be perfect when you go out to eat. That's simply the nature of the game. People make mistakes, things happen, etc. Be nice, be gracious, tip well and enjoy the good and not so good of the experience.

I've never been in the service industry, but it's posts like this that make me very glad that I wasn't.

They don't serve well, they don't get paid. That's the business they are in. If they aren't going to let me do it myself, and are going to demand payment, then they better do it well.

You pay right up front, and they have a "tip" column on the ticket.
Well I don't know how the service throughout my meal has been, I just frickin got here. You are bringing me food and I'm fetching my drink.

I have a place around here that'll bring you another beer or whatever to your table, and not bring another check. You just go throw a fiver at the front desk on your way out, if you remember to. Hard to remember, I am drinking beer after all.

So yeah, no advice here. These places are weird.

Not if I was in a business where your pay is based on how you perform.

And like I said, I usually tip. Only maybe 2-3 times I haven't. It's a bullshit idea that I can't be allowed to get my own drink, but then have a server who never comes around, and never even asks about the food, yet still wants me to pay them. It's obnoxious.
