GSP was far more liked and the golden boy / media sweetheart and nobody gave him the fight, not even the Canadian sites.

I think GSP is the GOAT, & even if they gave it to Hendricks, my opinion of GSP would not change. I am Cdn, & I was at a bar in Toronto Canada. The whole bar thought GSP lost, we were somber at the end of the fight. Whether you wanna call it a robbery or not, I thought it was a very close fight that GSP lost, hard to call it a robbery. But yrs later, people tend to look more kindly on the guy who had the better career after the fight, than at the time of the fight. I’m talking about their opinion of who won. Another example is Nog vs Rico, at the time, many thought Nog lost. But because Nog went onto continue a brilliant career while Rico’s career took a nosedive, so yrs later, people act like it wasn’t super controversial or a robbery

I had it simple:
2 & 4 were clearly Hendricks 10-9
3 & 5 were clearly GSP 10-9
The first round was razor thin. I had it for GSP. If you gave it to Hendricks good for you. Close as a fight can be. Not remotely a robbery.

Also of note the claims Hendricks was so allegedly dominant and damaging that he was decisively beaten in the 5th. I guess he wasn't so damaging now was he?

Additionally the rounds were very close statistically except for the 3rd where Georges landed 31-15 significant strikes. He dominated him by a very wide margin. Johnny did great and benefitted from the "Halo Effect". Extra credit for not getting dominated like all the rest. Johnny was gassed and on fumes in the 5th which is why he lost it so very clearly. He can't cry about it and maybe you shouldn't either.

Johnny boy, I miss ya. That may sound gay but this guy had some special skills at one point and I just don't think he ever realized how much potential he had.

His explosive one punch knockout power which he usually got from his quick steps forward. He had much faster feet than people expected and he caught some guys by surprise untill camps noticed and trained for it. Then he realized that they prepared for it and decided to kickbox for points which worked well for him vs Lawler and then he had another disappointment with a decision that didn't go his way and after that I think he lost his motivation forever. A shame.

One punch southpaw KO power, iron chin with beard padding, D1 yankee wrestling good enough to stuff GSP and 5 round cardio. They don't make them like this anymore.

Honestly I don’t care who won, but I was heavily GSP bias fan wise. Don’t like Johnny something about him annoys me. It just seems in a fight where it can be flipped so easily you had a strong majority on two sides.

I’m simply asking why the media (who were GSP fans) or bias (Canadian scorecards, Luke and others) giving Hendricks the fight unanimously…. when fans were opposing this. Usually the media is divided 50/50 60/40 or even 70/30 with these things.

My guess is fans struggle more with things like this (like politics and other things) and can’t be as objective. But if it was as close as many think, why would the media who would seemingly prefer GSP as the face of MMA all give the same score?
