Had a waiter confront me outside over a tip

This thread was about someone being assaulted over a $5 tip lol. The point was if the USA wasn't retarded and paid people more than $7 an hour everyone would be financially better off

Waiters get paid much more than $7/hour when it's all said and done, some quit school and decided to make careers out it because it pays better than student loan debt and minimal career jobs such as teaching.

Explain what?

So I gave a low tip, that makes me a terrible human being now? I'd say everyone in here calling black people "bad tippers" and saying TS must be black, are a lot worse human beings than me.
Sherdog for ya. I could care less for the comments of teenage douchebags with internet courage, or the fact that you are trying to deflect the attention to the bad posters. I am responding directly to your query in the OP .

The waiter had no business touching you and I would have probably smacked him around a bit for that. Yelling at you and calling you a cheap piece of shit sure, but not shoving you. But you do not strike me as the type who would or could physically defend yourself since you wanted to go in and complain as opposed to giving him a black eye.

However, a waiter would never have done that to me because I am not a cheap piece of shit.

You are a shit person for leaving a tip that small. 2.5% for 4 hours of service to 3 people?. And your friends are right to be shaming you. The waiter did not just shame you, he made you a full on prag in that exchange. Even if you went in to complain, you would have been tossed to the curb by whoever you complained to.

You leave no less than $30 on that tab unless service was utter shit and super slow. Should leave $40.

But blah blah, the regular crowd will come in trying to sound Like Steve Buscemi in Resevoir dogs telling everyone they should not tip. Classic case of people who do not look ahead past today.

If everyone were cheap pieces of shit like that, serving would become a glorified Burger king level minimum wage job where cost of food will go up by passing higher costs of employees to the customers. Essentially, this "Don't tip" crowd is pushing for more lax service from less reliable staff where you cannot punish inept employees by stiffing them.

And that is the time you are supposed to tip small or not at all. When you get shit slow rude service.

Cant think of a single establishment in my area that has a set up like that, that actually has 3star+ food. Only 1-2 star dives.

I think you're lying here.

This guy won Top Chef and his flagship restaurant does Take Out.

I guess it we were about due for a tipping thread.

IDK man, I worked as a bouncer for about a year at a live music nightclub and that's a pretty dick thing to do.

I HAVE been asked to bounce people by bartenders before because someone wrote a zero on the credit card receipt in the tip line like a cunt (like circled it and shit and like rubbing it in the bartender's face they weren't tipping) and was like "kick them and say they're being belligerent" so I did.

To be fair, those were always the most fun. It was the only times where we as a staff were able to truly retaliate and treat cunts like a cunt.
Yeah I have seen that regularly.
its fun to see them get manhandled out thinking they are being coy by not tipping then getting their head "oopsed!" into the wall on the way out.

Cops take bouncers sides 100% of the time, so there is nothing they can do legally either when they get bounced. The bouncers always just say "they were making inappropriate comments", which does not show up on camera anyways, so cops have no way to verify even if they have camera's on property.

Not lying. I said, I cant think of a single place with that set up that is 3stars + IN MY AREA. So sure their must be someone in another area I have not heard about with this set up.. So no, I was not in any way lying.

What's your area? Because this guy is famous chef in a real city where a lot of people go to spend money on good food and drinks.

Lol'ing hard @ literally assaulting someone because you didn't get an extra $2 that won't be declared on taxes.

This is the level of human being we are dealing with here, folks. Would harm someone for literally $2. And we're supposed to pay them more?

Behold the actual bottom of the barrel.

Went to a restaurant with a few of my friends last night, just to grab a few drinks and appetizers, a place called BJ's.

We end up staying for about 4 hours, from about 6-10, and for the 3 of us our total ended up being almost $200 (mainly alcohol).

We usually try and go out once a month and every month it's someone else's turn to cover the bill, and this time it was my turn.

So, figuring that even tho it was $200, I figured it's not that fucking hard to bring out 3 damn drinks at a time and we only had 2 small appetizers. I only had $5 cash on me and decided that would suffice considering it was just mainly alcohol purchased.

So after I pay with my card, I leave the $5 on the table, we walk out and sit on the bench while my friends smokes a cigarette and we continue to catch up. The waiter comes out side a minute later in a frenzy, screaming about this and that and how I'm a cheap fuck and how I shouldn't go out to eat if I can't afford to tip and shoves me to the ground.

He ends up saying "$5 on a $200 bill is unacceptable and I should go fuck myself", and then he goes back inside. My friends ask if $5 is really all I left? And I said yes, and they said why didn't you leave a tip on the receipt with your card? So I guess they took his side in the matter and they talked me out of going inside the restaurant and complaining.

How much do you goes tip for drinks? Was I in the wrong?

Cliffs : Went out with friends
Drank a lot
Tipped $5 on $200 bill because mainly alcohol
Waiter tries to fight me outside

You arent even trying anymore bro

I've only "oopsed" a guy once and it was cause he jumped on our monitor speakers on the stage (some nights we'd allow patrons up there to dance". I told him off and as soon as I turned my back he jumped up there and flipped me off so I "oopsed" him off the 3 foot high stage... he proceeds to hop up and shove me so put him in that arm twist thing and "oops" his head off the door frame on the way out. Not hard enough to do anything other than have like maybe a welt at most.

LMAO wondering why someone confronted you when you tipped them at like 2.5%.
He's lucky I gave him any money at all, servers that are stick their hand out for a tip are almost the equivalent of guys outside of the convenience store taking cigarette butts out of the trash can.

this thread has grown bigger than some hung pornstars dick and in less time lolz

I live near Ft Wayne. I know just about every restaurant in our town an all of the ones ranked 3stars or higher are not take outs.. The closest we have are the Unranked, with no stars Food trucks. I have not eaten any of them as I don't trust their cleanliness.

I love how you think they do it to people who don't leave $2.

When you do not leave money after getting a drink at the bar, the Bartender just skips you a few times and makes you wait longer. Which is their right. If you are a good tipper, they will skip other people to serve you drinks first.

When you don't leave a tip after ordering a ton and wasting hours of their time, and then get snarky with them when they call you out on not tipping is when you get smacked around as the bouncer hauls you out and bans you from the establishment.
