Hello!

I am about to move up to the bay area and was wondering about a good BJJ gym to join. I started BJJ quite recently (been training on and off for about 5 months due to injury) but really enjoy it. Anywho, I was hoping for something close to Stanford that offers latish classes (8,8:30 maybe?). The BJJ instructor I'm working with now suggested Dave Camarillo in San Jose, which sounds intriguing, but commute details end up making it somewhat difficult.

Thanks!

the closest one to you is Jake Shields its in south SF

Jake Shields (Cesar Gracie black belt)

I trained at Dave Camarillo's for a couple of months when I first started BJJ. You'll love it- it fits everyone. They've got great instructors, grappling phenoms and also just normal guys who want to learn BJJ.

Also- Dave is one of the coolest guys ever- at least go check them out. He teaches out of AKA...

Thanks for the replies =]. I think I'm gonna make my decision after I find a place to stay (with housing costs the way they are up there I may end up in san jose...)

Ralph Gracie has an academy in Mountain View (the suburb just south of Palo Alto), on El Camino Real. They have classes starting at 7pm Tues/Thurs, and 6:30pm Mon/Wed/Fri (and also 11am classes Mon-Sat).
