I bought the gymboss after seeing it in FIght! magazine. It was only $19.95 and a few bucks shipping - it comes with 1 AAA battery and has an already attached belt clip.

It's much smaller than I thought, height and width are smaller than credit card and its about as think as a dime on its side.

Controls feel cheap as does the whole product but it seems to do the job. It's relatively easy to program if you read the instructions, not intuitive like an iphone.

Since you can program and amount of time and rest in between rounds, this makes the timer really useful for all types of exercises but it does require you to reprogram it for each new exercise.

Choice of 1, 5, 10 seconds of beeping or it does have a vibration mode too. If you listen to music than it might be difficult to hear unless it's right next to you.

Probably my biggest complaint is that once you start the time (after you program) there appears NO WAY to stop it unless you run it down or take out the battery. Battery option sucks because you then have to reprogram (it doesn't remember the last setting).

PROS: small, lightweight and easily programmed.
CONS: requires reprogramming for each new exercise. not intuitive instructions and can't manually clear timer once it starts.

WHERE TO BUY: Gymboss Interval Timer: perfect for workouts : improves your body for life

RECOMMENDATION: for those looking for a budget, flexible timer it's a great buy.

Wait are you saying you don't know how to turn it off or restart it? Unless they have changed them drastically you may want to reread the directions. You can turn it off and reset it by holding hte button on the side.

I've tried every combination on the instructions to reset it once i begin a timer program but unless mine is broken, no combination of buttons works. It will just pause for me (when i click the start button - holding it down for 3 seconds doesn't work either) but never reset - i have to wait for it to hit 0 or remove the battery.

    Does yours reset?

I can reset my gymboss using the start button on the side, hold that down for 3+ seconds.

I agree that it is indeed very cheaply made, I dropped mine and now the buzzer is barely audible. Wish they could make it sturdier, and with a stronger vibration.

For the price though, it's pretty damn good. I wouldn't say it's that cheaply made, though I haven't tried dropping it to find out and will try to avoid doing so if I can help it. It's held up well to some minor bumps and been jostled around a lot.

Had to lol at that. For 20 bucks, that's some high expectations you got there. :icon_chee
