Black dude came into the hotel with a Rigondeaux, Mundo Boxing shirt.

I talked to him about boxing real quick and he told me he goes to the gym that Rigo goes to.
He was about to leave until I told him that he checked in early so he has the room until tomorrow.

Notice that it was Bennie Fowler.
Played for the Denver Broncos for a few years, and if Im not mistaken, caught Peyton Mannings last pass.
Cool to see that he was into boxing.

You live in Miami? Mundo boxing is based out of the tropical Park/Muhammad Ali boxing gym near Tropical Park Miami.

I trained there a few times, but the traffic to get to that part of town fucking sucks for me.

I spoke to Joe Gallagher about dogs in Tesco last Tuesday.

Good job even recognizing the dude tbh.
I didnt.
He looked athletic enough that I thought maybe he was a boxer that Ive never seen, but when I saw his name, I googled it real quick and its him.

I didn't like Denver when I was there last year, too many homeless pot smokers, and they were aggressive, asking for money for weed. Dirty all around. Love Colorado in general tho.

Wonder if that guy comes to the Miami area for training camp in the summer or off season. I follow a few trainers at the gym I mentioned, and they handle a lot of celebrities and models in the Miami area. Sucks for me, because the gym has shit hours due to the special training. Surprisingly, the Miami boxing scene is utter shite.

That is pretty surprising for a city with such a rich boxing history and big Cuban population.

You know if Panama Lewis still runs a gym down there?

Just saw Lennox Lewis in McDonalds and he said he’s coming back to fight AJ in a 6 rounder.

Super suprising since there are so many Cubans and Puerto Ricans, among other Latin groups. But like with Cuba, there is a connection to communism with the boxing and the Cubans here HATE communism and are some of the biggest conservatives in the country. Even with PR, they seem to not care. I have seen Lara and Luis Ortiz here at the Hialeah Casino, each drew only about 3k people I'd guess.

Almost all boxing gyms here are boxing for fitness/weight loss. And the trainers dont even have much boxing background.

Haven't seen it, highly doubt it. Been to pretty much every boxing gym in the area.

Quick edit, but I found the boxing gym quality in the Maryland/DC area to be better. So was the local events scene.

I just saw Muhammad Ali and Fedor Emelianenko arguing about Sambo whilst Conor McGregor picked up used :eek::eek: stumps and muttered something about whores wanting his money in Dublin.

Trish Stratus was after me but I rejected her for Ronda Rousey.

I can see the whole Boxing Background thing, Cuban and Ricans coming out of FL can sometimes seem a bit sloppier in terms of sharpness than those coming out the island, like lacking off overall fundamentals they’d get with a committed coach. Although that has started to be an issue in PR, too many shitty trainers looking for money, sending kids with potential out there too early, Bonilla is a good example.

The Broncos suck.

Cool story though.
