Gutter RX Gutter guards?

Just get larger gutters with 3" x 4" or 4" x 6" downspouts that the leaves can go through. They work great. Check with a gutter company to see if they can install larger downspouts on your existing gutters.

The downspout must be paired with the gutter size, increasing one and not the other will not make a difference..It’s about calculated water volume. I have all 4x6 on my house, I have a lot of roof area ..

A larger downspout will help leaves pass through even on a small gutter. It also allows a lot more water to flow. My father had 4 inch gutters on his house that was built in 1970. The bottom of the gutters was only 2-1/2 inches wide so it had 2 x 3 downspouts. He had oak trees in his yard and the leaves would block the downspouts. He had the local gutter company install their 4 x 6 downspouts and never cleaned the gutters again.

Sticking with the theme of the thread, leaves shouldn’t be going into the gutter with the proper guards, if you have an open gutter , yes leaves will go in, and no, regardless of the size of the leader, you will need to clean it..
