Gunnar Nelson exposed?

This is exactly why I bet $50 on Story. I have no idea why those odds were so far apart! Gunnar always looked good, but never top level and I knew Story was going to be just a little too much.

Didn't see the fight but I'm glad how it turned out. Nelson is one of those guys who annoys me for some reason. His fight style/personality/overall look just bugs me. Sort of in the same way CB Dolloway used to annoy everyone. Something about the look on his face.

He'll learn from this fight, and be back stronger

His best bet is to drop a weight class and hope it translates into the ability to grapplefuck opponents, the way Maia was able to when he dropped from 185 to 170. Nelson's striking was definitely exposed, he's like Machida without the striking arsenal or the skill. Bouncing around and throwing a straight right is literally 90% of his game on the feet. He is obviously an awesome grappler, however.

It was actually very much like Shogun vs Machida 1.

The Karate guy gets tenderized and significantly slowed by dilligent body work. Therefore he can't use his speed and timming to do damage. The only diffrence is that Rory worked the midsection while Shogun worked the legs. (and Rory only nearly got robbed).

just like hendricks got exposed by story. that guy will never amount to anything lol

Gunnar cuts around 4-5 pounds to make 170. He is best served to move down to 155. He will struggle against the big WW's up the ladder (i.e. Woodley and others).

Zac cummings took a round from him but then took it to the ground and got choke out, he gave that fight to Gunni

Excited to see Gunni bounce back. I think we will see his best in his upcoming performances now that he lost here.
