im a huge fan of khabib but to me and most people it looked like conor was just trying to reach up and scratch his ear and the ref thought it was a tap... conor got out of the hold soon after the "tap" .. but the ref thought he tapped and called the fight

This part is true. Conor did not attempt to defend. He gave up pretty quick. That's probably because Khabib cranked hard af. But that choke is not a white belt move. Again, Gordon Ryan taps guys with the jaw crank all the time.
