i'd definitely be rooting for him. he's been one of my favorite fighters for years now, and his fight with pettis is a masterclass in mma.

i feel woodley would really highlight the size and strength deficit of a welterweight RDA, though. tyron can hurt him standing, he can wrestle him, and he isn't getting submitted while he's on top. RDA can't really take him down, and i doubt he can consistently stay in his face without getting picked up and dumped to the mat. i'd love nothing more than to see RDA get the second belt, but i see woodley just bruteforcing his way through him.

i'm not comparing GSP's dominance, i'm comparing how difficult it is for RDA to get the welterweight belt now compared to when GSP held it.

GSP would've wrestlefucked him. woodley will do the same, or possibly hurt him standing. losing 50-45 to GSP isn't infinitely worse than losing 49-46 to woodley.
