A boring but important classic
A boring but important classic
Def a boring fight. GSP if you think about it turned what on paper was a great fight into not so great fights lol against BJ 2 and Diaz. You would be an uneducated fool to not enjoy this 50-45 domination
I think that GSP saw Diaz as a guy that had a lot of potential to finish him with a misstep. He's also a guy with an infinite gas tank, hard to finish. Georges came in knowing he was going to go a hard 25 to win.I always thought this fight made gsp look worse
khamzat can beat nick and nate diaz at the same time. The funny thing is if this was offered to the diaz brothers they would duck the fight.Someone should show Khamzat that fight to show how to be active on teh top~
Nate literally accepted the fight.khamzat can beat nick and nate diaz at the same time. The funny thing is if this was offered to the diaz brothers they would duck the fight.
Khamzat chickened out by not making weight…to fight just 1 of the Diaz brothers. He’s scared.khamzat can beat nick and nate diaz at the same time. The funny thing is if this was offered to the diaz brothers they would duck the fight.

Enjoyed the bit of success Nick had on the feet in rd 4. Sent GSP right back to shooting TDs.

The two fighters I hated most back then were BJ Penn and Nick Diaz (their insufferable fans also made me root for them to lose even harder). Watching GSP absolutely pulverize BJ in their rematch is still one of the greatest things I've ever witnessed as an MMA fan. I'm only sorry that GSP didn't obliterate Nick the same way. But a thorough 50-45 domination isn't too shabby
BJ 2 was only not a great fight if you were a BJ fan. If you were a GSP fan or a BJ hater - and I was both - it's one of the greatest nights in UFC history![]()
You're really stretching "bit" there. What did he land, one knee and one body shot in the clinch? Other than that, GSP jabbed his face off and bloodied him up that round. Nick had 0 success in that fight. GSP shut him down completely and mauled him. Nick upped his wrestling and showed good defense against Sherk, so he was able to stop a few of GSP's shots. I guess you could call that success. But you need to really grasp for straws to commend him for anything in that drubbing. And in no universe did he make GSP have to go "back to shooting TDs" as if he forced him into panic wrestling mode. GSP did whatever he wanted for 25 minutes straight and Nick couldn't do a single thing about it...well, except what he does best, which is whine afterwards.
Yeah, Nick had GSP shaking in his boots.

To be fair, GSP took the fight seriously. Anderson very clearly did not.GSP dominated Díaz more than Anderson did, although Anderson was one weight class bigger.
lmao fair point. I did like both, but you gotta pull for the underdogs, especially the way gsp was laying on people. The two fighters I hated most back then were BJ Penn and Nick Diaz (their insufferable fans also made me root for them to lose even harder). Yep- Nate is 1-0Khamzat chickened out by not making weight…to fight just 1 of the Diaz brothers. He’s scared.
Agreed. Nick was very unlikeable and his fanboys were annoying. If he had stayed at WW and been more active he would have struggled to be a .500 guy (already had 2 UFC losses at the time and would have been matched up against guys like Hendricks, Rory, Maia, Woodley). You would be an uneducated fool to not enjoy this 50-45 domination
