GSP vs Hendricks was not a robbery!

Watched it for the 2nd time since it happened. Initially i had it for Hendricks for sure but i think that the fight was so close with a dominant champion that you want to give props to the challenger.

Round 1 I scored it for Hendricks, close round.

Round 2: Hendricks landed some good shots in the beginning but he didn’t hurt him as much as the commentary made it out to be. GSP wasn’t even wobbled or anything. Most of the round took place in the centre of the octagon and I thought personally GSP landed the better shots (left hooks and jabs) I scored it for GSP for dominating most of the round

Round 3: Definitely GSP

Round 4: Definitely Big Rigg

Round 5: GSP was better.

48-47 GSP. Watch it again without paying much attention to Joe and Goldie and I think you would score it the same as I did. TBH you could even make an argument that George won the 1st round.

yes it was
Watch it again

It was not a robbery because its close.

But hendricks did win it imo, he edged it out 3 rounds to 2.

What makes it stand it is how dominant hendricks looked over GSP, especially with the damage early on. That sort of thing sticks out in people's minds. He was clearly the better guy in that fight, he "won" the fight overall quite easily. But based on the scoring system it ended up being very close.

Because they are bitter and they wanted gsp to get another L. It’s only his haters that still carry on about this.

I came here to say this.

With the years that have passed since. The result is far easier to see (for me) as correct. At the time, almost EVERYONE wanted GSP to lose apart from his die hards. He was highly criticized for his lack of finishing either Fitch, Alves, Kos, or Sheilds and was "bet against" in the Condit and Diaz fights. At the time of the fight, despite his draw, he was not the popular champion he is seen as now and people were equally disappointed as they were in disagreement with the official result.

Just my take on it as I have also recently re-watched the fight and can easily see the fight was close but in no way a robbery.

Hendricks best round of the entire fight was round 2 wtf are you talking about?
The only round that is up for debate is round 1, which I scored for GSP giving it 48-47 GSP.
If it were Pride scoring it would be a different story.

Absolutely not a decision I alike at all but I also agree that a long time defending champ should be soundly defeated not edged. I personally thought GSP caught a sound enough beating but I can squint and say maybe not enough.

TS is right,

GSP won the fight on the 10 points scoring system,
no fckng doubt.

He lost that war tho.

originally when i saw it happen i did see hendricks having a argument that he won the fight, but ive watched this fight alot of times now, and each time i saw it after the original time i just saw gsp winning it.

but it was a great fight none the less.

The only people screaming "robbery" were the people desperate for gsp to lose so they overemphasized johnnys performance. A side note its Johnny was roided up for that fight and gsp still beat him, gsp goat for sure.

Hendricks got beat by a gay porn star in BKFC.

/end.

Not a robbery, could have gone either way. I was kinda pissed when GSP- Lennox Lewisd into retirement instead of giving fans a rematch.

In hindsight it was probably smart of GSP to retire and avoid being the next ex champion casuality

Johnny Hendricks landed the much better and definitely much harder shots in round 2 but only in the 1st minute of the round. The other 4 minutes GSP managed to catch up with the strikes and was jabbing Big Rigg’s face up. Watch the 2nd round again and see for yourself.

Furthermore, the commentary really made GSP look more hurt than he actually was. He didn’t even wobble or anything just got a bruise.

I agree it was GSPS closest fight but I scored it similar to how you did.

The shocking thing is what the hell happened to Hendricks career after this fight?

I know the whole stick about IV bags but jeez, to go from almost beating the GOAT to being 3-6 in his post GSP career. WTF was in those IV bags?
Hendricks was 5-1 Post USADA. His two fights with Robbie and his Matt Brown win were Pre USADA.

Please do Lawler vs Condit next!!!
I assume you'll work your way up to fights that didn't happen 6 years ago?

It was a super close and competitive fight, could have gone either way.

Pre-USADA Hendricks was a force of nature
