GSP most complete fighter?

GSP, Fedor, Jones and DJ are close to each other in terms off being 'complete'. When you think about those fighters there is not really a gameplan you can think off how to beat them.

Demetrious Johnson is the most complete fighter the sport has seen. He has shown all aspects of MMA.

Great boxing, kickboxing, footwork, clinch work, submissions, sub defense, takedowns, takedown defense, transitions, KO power, solid chin, cardio, etc.

No other fighter including GSP can say they have shown more aspects of MMA than Mighty Mouse Johnson.

I would tend to agree, with the offset being GSP ruled the most staked WW division we’ve seen before or since. DJ is basically so far away from the next in his division (Cejudo) that it gives the illusion that FLW is weak. Although IMO Henry is rapidly closing the gap and I’m looking forward to the rematch, I personally think Cejudo is the future of 125.

GSP being on Rogan’s podcast had me thinking.

His striking, wrestling and submissions are impeccable. And he proved that again against Bisping.

Do you guys think he’s the most complete mma fighter ever? Together with maybe Fedor?

If not, who is?
Fedor has KO power and is dangerous off his back.

I can make a case for GSP, Fedor, Jones and Silva. The last two have tainted legacies though.

Maybe MM. He's dangerous everywhere. His clinch is nasty.

You lost me at "submissions are impeccable."

Pretty much this. People going to act like BJ didn't split decision with GSP and GSP didn't cheat when he greased to avoid that threat in their second fight.

You gonna act like Penn didn't poke GSP in the eye so bad GSP had to get his eye checked at the hospital after? Thats the only reason Penn even won the first round of their first fight.

Oh... and the judge that scored the fight for Penn was Cecil fucking Peoples haha

Way too open for debate on both accounts, but I’d argue against both individually and agree with it being possibly the “smartest about training.”

There are plenty of guys with intelligence: Mighty Mouse, Cruz, Stann, Sonnen.

Pretty sure he was talking fight IQ. Not being well spoken. Stann and Sonnen are not even close to the smartest fighters

GSP is the smartest and hardest working fighter of all time..

The whole "hardest working" thing is not something easily defined. Georges worked out with very specific intent when he was training, making the most of every minute. There are probably many others who worked "harder" (more hours, harder sparring, etc.), but it wasn't efficient training.

GSP worked smarter than most. I think MM is similar in his approach.

a lot of the goats are well rounded, its hard to say.

Yes, I think it's fairly clear at this point. Only competition is Fedor, and GSP's resume squashes his, and GSP didn't have the rapid decline either.

i love maia but he is nowhere near well rounded...

Since you mention only Maia I will assume you consider the other fighters I mentionned, Lavar Johnson and Vinny Magalheas, to be well rounded?

I was being sarcastic my friend. These are some of the most one dimensionnal fighters ever.

My response was directed at a specific post, not the theme of this thread.

Also, don’t cherry pick two of the fighters I listed and assume that I cannot determine the difference between speech patterns and intelligence. You’re just being petty.
