By fighting Bisping and basically fucking up the division he has lost the chance to fight arguably the greatest MMA fighter of all time. Had he waited a bit longer fought Khabib, won. He could have blamed the weight cut for his vacating the belt and later moved up to middleweight for the third belt. Dana might have understood this. Georges didn't think this through.

He never ducked, he just was not interested in defending belts. Which I completely understand. He of all fighters should have been given a pass by the UFC to challenge multiple belts but obviously they wanted him to defend and to secure the fight he had to agree to this. He should have waited for Khabib.

They are 21 months apart in age?. GSP had along layoff and looked amazing. While Bisping was coming off the biggest win of his career.

GSP had a good plan IMO. He was out for years and needed to take his ring rust away. Opportunity: Make a check off Bisping and then allow a build up to sell his next fight with Khabib.

Tho he kinda miscalculated his worth to the company. Dana White would never let Khabib fight GSP knowing Conor Mcgregor/Khabib was always a possibility up until Khabib was done fighting.

He lied to the fans by saying he was contractually obligated to unify vs Whittaker even thought he never had any intention of fighting Rob. I don’t blame him tho. Bobby would have KOd him

The unknown was Khabib's father passing. RIP. A Khabib vs GSP fight was always on Dana's mind IMO. After the first fight we all know Conor loses the rematch and inevitably leaves Khabib with no equal.
