GSP doesn't want the belt back. If he beats Lawler, he then has to defend it. That's the reason he left in the first place, being obligated to fight was too much of a burden.
He's 34, and likely looking for one or two more fun, interesting tests (and pay days). Anderson would have made sense, I can see why his camp wants Nate Diaz.
There is just no point to a Lawler fight. What would be the purpose of him taking the belt back just to re-retire and Munson the WW division without a champ? Doesn't make sense for GSP, doesn't make sense for the UFC.
