Let's not kid ourselves: The moment both take equal testing it will be 50-45 or 49-46 at the most. GSP was the rightful winner: 1-3-5 and he did it on a less than level playing field.

Agree 1000000000%

One of the best post I've read in a while. I watched the fight earlier today and Joe Rogan and Goldberg makes i seem like Johny is fucking destroying GSP when it's in fact a really close fight where GSP won round 1 3 5.

Yeah, you really gotta watch the first round on mute, makes it look totally different than when Rogan does his completely onesided "commentating".

It is how he rolls. He yells about Johnny landing a shot in the clinch that he clearly completely misses with.

Rogan does this shit all the time and it forces me to pay closer attention to the fight, knowing he acknowledges missed strikes and is silent during significant strikes landed by the opponent.

He does it a lot but he can get silly in championship fights. He did the same thing in Gus/Jones

It's like the Aldo vs Edgar fight where Joe started screaming about how tired Aldo was and how he thought that Edgar might have won. If you watch the fight on mute without Rogans biased commentary you see Aldo easily winning the fight 49-46 and he doesn't look tired at all.

I agree 100 percent that was the point of my post that when gsp fights with a clear mind it would be the usual 50 - 45 domination and yes I believe he one the first fight just not in as dominant fashion

You mean more exciting than his fight of the year vs Carlos Condit and his Fight of the night vs. Johny?

Well I was thinking more his other fights from the last 4 or 5 years which have been incredibly tedious to watch....the Condit fight was pretty decent, not crazy exciting....outside of that kick which GSP did well to survive. After that, the last 2 rounds were your basic GSP fight, I don't see how that coulda been the fight of the year for 2012, especially when KZ/Poirer was that year. The Hendricks fight was great, GSP lost imo but it was close.

Absolutely, though GSP is noticeably slower and less explosive than he used to be.
