Unlike a guy like Anderson, he rarely had a moment of weakness. We can all agree that Anderson has by far and away the best highlight reel in all of MMA, or at least one of the bests, but he also had moments where he either looked vulnerable or had lackluster performances.

Meanwhile, with Georges, you knew what you would get, a dismantling of his opponent. It didn't matter who the guy was nor his skill set, GSP would always have the perfect gameplan ready to go and would follow it to a tee. Now, I know that a lot of people hate "point fighting" and would much rather see two guys go head to head until one of them falls, but to me, that shows discipline and is quite great.

This is not a thread to bash Anderson or anything, if it was, I'd have just posted a picture of dick pills and called it a day, but rather it's a thread about how I think GSP is sometimes underappreciated by some due to his decisions.

GSP is more well-rounded than Anderson. It is known.

Also, Fedor's HL reel equals, if not surpasses, Anderson's.

The people who believe GSP isn't that good due to having not many finishes are the same people who believe that if player A scores a better looking goal despite actually having no influence on their team, makes them better than Player B who may score simple goals but is more efficient and successful for/with their team

That’s the thing I like about GSP. He made top contenders look like amateurs.

GSP is one of the best to ever do it and is arguably the best ever in the same conversation as Fedor and Anderson.

Until the Hendricks fight he had literally lost one round in his last 35. He didn't finish fights, but he definitely dominated them. Flame on...

Nobody thinks GSP "isn't that good". In the context of GOAT argument though, the argument is there other fighters with long reigns at the top who did finish their opponents.

He's the goat. Tho im not happy with his mw shennagins

There was a stretch of a few years where Silva looked invincible. I mean you had shit like the Traves Lutter fight, the Maia fight, Vitor, Forrest, rich, Leben etc where he was straight up just pooping in everyone’s mouth except i think Hendo won the first round of their fight.

People forget that GSP did fight in an exciting and more risky fashion in most of his fights when he was on his way up.

It's normal to be more conservative once you've reached the top and you are defending against the very best every time.

It isn't the champ's job to bring the fight to his challenger, it's the challenger's job to prove himself.

GSP did what he did to keep winning. The fact is that he completely dominated almost each and everyone of his opponents. So at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter whether he finished them or not. It was very clear that he was the better man in all those fights, minus the Hendricks one.

Yeah also GSP didn't get boxed up by Michael Bisping, unlike Anderson.
