GSP by the Numbers - Most Strikes Ever

Doesn't he also have the longest total fight time though? How many of those strikes were on the feet? Rabbit punches on the ground.

1 title defense finish against a LW and that was barely a finish (corner stoppage).

7 straight title defense decisions in his prime.
Thats what happens when you fight the best and dont need to juice up. I am sure you can post “better” finishes from known ped takers.

Why didn't anyone else finish GSP with all of those fights and rounds?

Look at all the one dimensional bums on his resume.

Who is his greatest win? Hughes? Serra? Bisping? LOL..

Mind you 2 out of 3 of those guys finished GSP.

yep, also went 4 yrs without even losing a round on judges scorecard.

Silva & even Jones were losing round left and right
Finishes > Decisions

Which rounds was Jones losing left and right?

Not according to the UFC records.

GSP has 5 finishes in title fights.

It's not a good thing to have the most strikes ever.

It just means that your fights are lasting all 3 or 5 rounds.

In other words, you're not finishing opponents.

well its better then heavyweight, where people can only seem to manage to defend a title 2 or 3 times before someone else puts them away. doesnt help much either if they just want to show up for a brawl to please the meatheads. the fights never seem to last long because a couple shots and someone goes to sleep. most of them dont even have the gas tank to throw too many strikes or last 5 rounds either.

I said he went four years without losing a round

from Hughes #3 07'
to
Jake Shield 11'

Didn't lost a round before the Shield fight
Hughes #3, Serra #2, Fitch, Penn#2, Alves, Hardy, Kos #2

No judges gave any round away from GSP.
(few 10-8 for Georges too, pure dominance)

Way to out yourself as a newb lol

We aren't talking about power here boy. We're dispelling the LNP myth.

No one with any seriousness believes he laid-and-prayed to a particularly meaningful degree. Anyone who says that can be safely ignored as ignorant.

The real complaint is that he fought extremely conservatively given his ability, and oriented his game much more towards the anti-risk side of things because his overwhelming objective was to "merely win" (as opposed to win while entertaining, get finishes, etc...).

I'm not saying I personally find much value in that complaint, but that's closer to what the complaint actually is.

Oh boy irrelevant numbers
<1>
GSP fans should retire with their boy

Why couldn’t he finish any of those one dimensional fighters during his 7 fight (8 of 9) decision streak?
