Growth hormone or some kind of height doping in NBA recruiting?

100% of children who play basketball grow taller than they were.
That’s a fact and maybe not coincidentally.... these same kids that have that growth have a 100% chance of dying at some point in the future

This happened with Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook too, neither of whom were rated highly until they had their "spurts" and became physical specimens.

Also says here that Jeremy Lin was 5'3'' at 15 with a pair of 5'6'' parents, but then *bam* he shoots up to 6'3''

Hard to believe that all these are natural, but it DOES give hope to all the young manlets out there.

Of course it must be taken into consideration that the NBA measures people with shoes on, so a guy who is listed at 6'7'' in the NBA will probably be a couple inches shorter irl, but it still seems super fishy to me.

One thing I found weird is when I read about the bio of many NBA players is they always cite them having these crazy late growth spurts that just never coin icdde wit hanything ive seen in the real world.

Eg. Scottie Pippen

Pippen stood only 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m) tall when he graduated from high school, but experienced a growth spurt while at Central Arkansas and grew to 6 ft 8 in (2.03 m).

???

What kind of secret sauce did they put in this man's oatmeal for him to grow OVER HALF A FOOT in college?

Have you ever known anybody to grow that much late in life?

Taller people often take longer to grow. I grew almost a foot aged 17-18.

there is politically incorrect joke about knee growth there to be made.
Knee growth? That'th prejudith!

A 5'6" woman is ~6 ft as a man. Also his parents were immigrants, and kids of immigrants often grow ~5-8" taller than their parents. He also has a sibling that hit 6' and played college ball. So that seems normal..

Like 5 examples listed out of hundreds of players, some have to go back to the 80s/90s but apparently there’s something fishy going on. LOL.

You could find as many examples of people who were TOO tall and actually got surgery to stop growing.

Lol, you people do make me laugh, just research drugs that stop the growth plates from closing;), also delaying puberty and top it up with growth hormone.

Wasn't Scottie from really big poor family? Maybe in college, the team fed him good food with calcium.

I know here, the football and baseball teams get fed good from donors.

I went from 6'0 to 6'4 after 18.
I wish i had some GH to be 6'8 I'd be a gazillionaire by now
you would have blown it all your rookie year and 20 years later ESPN would have done a 30/30 doc on you

Perhaps it's not that the NBA creates a late growth spurt in potential players, but rather potential players who experience a late growth spurt are more likely to make it to the NBA.

My old BB coach was 6ft 1 until he was 18-19 where he grew to 6 ft 11.. Happens, its actually a defect though, and dudes of that height tend to struggle major with back issues and stuff.

If there's any growth hormone out there that
allows me to grow to 6Ft.+ I want to take it.

Its not normal to grow half a foot in college

It has more to do with nutrition than drugs. Kids coming from poor backgrounds with poor diets get into a college atheletic program where they actually can eat decently for once, and bam their genetic potential for height is unlocked.

This is referred to as "catch-up growth".

Not saying there aren't people out there using drugs to get taller, but it's not the only explanation.
