I have deja vu like I made this thread a few years ago
This is related to grappling but because we're now allowed to talk about the aesthetic benefits of lifting in this subforum, I want to talk about an important aspect of proportion.
We know that wide shoulders, lats that V taper to a narrow waist, and thick thighs and calves are all part of a well proportioned physique, but the importance of a wide neck is less widely discussed.
I personally feel like wrestling is one of the best ways to develop a thicker, more masculine neck. Along with this, I have noticed that an impressive jawline and prominent chin are positive side effects that result from grappling.
Examples:
A well known bodybuilder, scooby1961, is an example of a guy with a great physique and a thin pencil neck. The cobra hood traps help to minimize this but it's still quite apparent imo.

Now contrast this with the thick beastly necks and badass jawlines of high level wrestlers.
Cael Sanderson's physique below the neck is arguably less aesthetic than scoob but he looks way manlier and studly above the collar.

More wrestlers with legendary jawlines and manly necks.

What do y'all think? Any weight lifters who also grapple that have noticed a benefit from bjj/wrestling/judo in this area? I have to start grappling again. I remember when I started wrestling a lot 10 years ago and I started getting more female attention. Need to get back into it.
