International Hamas launches surprise attack on Israel; Israel has declared a state of war Megathread

meanwhile 1.8 million Ukrainians have died and not a single person accused Russia of genocide

That’s not true at all. Nice try at a deflection though.

U.S. lawmakers visiting The Hague say Putin is committing genocide in Ukraine

That's an actual war with fighting between soldiers on one side and soldiers on another side.

There is substantially less Ukrainian civilians killed in that war than their is in Gaza, even though it's significantly larger and has been going on longer.

In Gaza it's just the IDF shooting fish in a barrel, and those fish are all civilians - mostly women and children.

Oh, plus all of the genocidal rhetoric being stated by all of the Israeli officials. Intent is the key factor in proving Genocide, and the Israeli's are providing us with that evidence.
I bet the Ukrainians wish they had some hostages they could have released exchange for a ceasefire, I bet wish they had unlimited sympathy from the rest of the world no matter how much they reject any form of peace. If they had the same cards as Palestine they would have been able to save many lives, they are stuck in a war with no end in sight.

Hamas will never want this war to end, no matter how many Palestinians will die.

Israel doesn't give a shit about the hostages. Hamas has worked deals to release them and Israel has broken those deals every single time.

There are Ukrainian flags everywhere and a MASSIVE amount of support from the US Government from BOTH parties, what the fuck are you talking about? You're creating some fake narrative that doesn't exist.

Hamas doesn't hold the cards, Israel does and they've been clear on their intent: Complete removal of Palestinians from Gaza resulting in Israeli control. The next stage in Greater Israel.

Hamas says it won’t disarm unless independent Palestinian state established

‘Palestinian state is the fruit of Oct 7’: Hamas rejects calls to disarm; says its weapons led to push for statehood

Hamas demands 250 aid trucks per day before resuming hostage-ceasefire negotiations

“We, as Palestinians, will not surrender our weapons,” the Hamas official stated. “Surrendering our weapons will only come as part of the political solution. Israel can only dream that we will ever surrender our weapons to it.”

Despite violating several laws of warfare, Hamed also repeated the Hamas claim that its methods of fighting Israel are not illegal, because “we are fighting for our freedom.”

Hamed has previously echoed this argument, asserting that any action taken against Israel is “justified.”
I see your reading comprehension is poor. There was a deal that all parties agreed to this year and it was holding. Then Israel pulled out with Trump's backing. What happened there?

Expected response from a NPC, cool facts btw

Talk about projection. It doesn't get much more NPC than being asked a question and then trying to deflect with twitter talking points instead of answering said question.

In a shock to no one, Israel is now calling for full occupation of Gaza.

Interesting that a few days ago Netenyahu was saying there is no starvation in Gaza, yet today his minister is saying that the Israeli hostages will starve unless Gaza is occupied.

Not surprising given you've amply demonstrated your ignorance around genocide previously by citing a scholar who argues genocide is happening in Gaza as evidence it isn't happening.

But genocide requires more than just mass killings, specifically it requires intent. In the case of Ukraine, there is a case to be made that Russia has employed some genocidal tactics, but the situation is far murkier than Gaza.

I mean...they have POWS, same as the Russians, and both sides use them as bargaining tactics for ceasefires and exchanges.

They've literally sniped kids in the head.
Not only head, according to doctors they've been seeing a pattern of boys being brought to the hospital after being shot in the dick.

Fucking barbaric behavior from the IDF.

There's literally video of the incident in the clip. These guys are SS level plain and simple
Let's not exaggerate... They are shit people who should be charged with war crimes but they are no where near SS level.

The flight offered not only a chance to witness three tonnes of aid – far from sufficient – dropped over the famine-stricken strip but also a rare opportunity to observe, albeit from above, a territory that has been largely sealed off from the international media since 7 October and the subsequent offensive launched by Israel. Following the Hamas-led attacks that day, Israel barred foreign journalists from entering Gaza – an unprecedented move in the history of modern conflict, marking one of the rare moments that reporters have been denied access to an active war zone.

Neither one is a genocide, they are both wars that could end, but neither side one either side has any interest in peace. With both Ukraine and Gaza the corrupt leaders will keep this going as long as they can to skim as much money off the top as possible. Neither one of these wars would have happened it it weren't for US involvement.

It's really weird to see people who have been advocating for cutting off aid to Ukraine for years now cititing Ukraine as a reason why people shouldn't care about the genocide in Gaza.

Newsflash fuckwads: Ukrainians and Palestinians are both victims of imperialism. The fact that the subjugation of one group serves the interest of US hegemony and the other doesn't is irrelevant. The morally consistent position to take is that both are wrong

Oh, plus all of the genocidal rhetoric being stated by all of the Israeli officials. Intent is the key factor in proving Genocide, and the Israeli's are providing us with that evidence.
Let's do some numbers:

Percentage of Jews in Europe killed in the Holocaust: 60%

Percentage of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire killed in the Armenian Genocide: 60-65%

Percentage of Tutsi killed in the 1994 Rwanda genocide: 70% - 80%

Percentage of Gazans killed in the Gaza War 10/8/23-Today: 3%

One of these things is not like the other.
