My prediction is Breaking Bad is going to win this poll.

Edit: In hindsight I shouldn't have put True Detective, Stranger Things, The Punisher and perhaps Vikings on this poll. That's my bad. lol

As of right now I have it...

5. The Shield
4. Breaking Bad
3. Game.of thrones - could drop to 4 if last season sucks
2. The Sopranos
1. The Wire

GOT for me.

Gotta give props to those earlier HBO joints like OZ, The Sopranos and The Wire though.

They really smashed down barriers in my view. I remember seeing those and thinking wow, television is becoming so much more than it was.

Six Feet Under...also Oz.

Other. Six Feet Under.

Breaking Bad and GOT are close. Currently watching the Wire and it seems like a pretty average police drama

Deja Vu. Hasn't this thread been done recently?

Some strange choices on that poll. I went with The Shield.

It was a tie between GOT, Breaking Bad, The Wire and the Sopranos. I went with Sopranos.

For me it's BB and nothing else. I became emotionally attached to that show.

The Punisher would lead that list. A comic book television series shouldn't be on a poll of best dramas. It just doesn't belong.

Yeah I probably should have put 24 on the poll rather than The Punisher. Oh well. What else is on that list?

I would say The X Files definitely doesn't belong on the list, Dexter and Hannibal are questionable, and you should have specified you were talking about the 2004 reboot of Battle Star Galactica for good measure.

Fair enough. lol

What about NYPD Blue, all the Soap Operas, L&O series, ER, The Practice, etc, etc. So many great ones

Time is proving so much kinder to The Wire than any shows that have ever threatened it. Just look at what happened in politics in the last 3-5 years.

The Wire first. At this point, there is no second.
