Greatest Indigenous Boxers

Just looked it up, he apparently had some Cherokee ancestry, that makes him part Native, but he was also Irish and Jewish.

Now that you mention it, I can see it a bit in his face, but I wouldn't have guessed if it wasn't brought up.

one of the most consistently exciting fighters ever
Who's this?

Again, part native part Irish part Jewish? You're the only nation that thinks of things in that way.

You say that like it's a bad thing. However people choose to recognize their heritage is up to them. Personally, I don't really care what my exact ethnic breakdown is, but in a melting-pot country of immigrants it makes sense that people seek an identity in that way. What is important is that however you choose to identify yourself or with others, you do it with respect.

My friend May (Chinese) is in Australia right now and just got called a :eek::eek::eek::eek: by a man behind her in line at airport security. Exact words, "Why do we all have to wait for this :eek::eek::eek::eek: to unpack her things"? Nobody around seemed bothered that a racial slur was used towards a young woman in public.

Every country has some issues, but that is not a scene you are likely to witness at an American airport.

Edit: Looks like I got censored. The missing word rhymes with blink.

I'm fairly sure my country can call prior dibs on melting pot.

But whatever, I'm 1/16th Norwegian but never felt the need to mention it to anyone.

Morrissey won't like that one bit.
People treat morrissey as if he's some superior intellectual who is misunderstood, instead of a weirdo with a shot voice. Fuck the smiths and fuck morrissey.

I only told you my heritage because I like you brah.

Lol! Sunfish went hard on the Smiths here. I agree, Morrissey doesn't seem like a very Charming Man.

Henry Armstrong was half Native American, his mother was Iroquois.

There are theories that tie them together but I find that improbable considering the lengths of time that would have passed from generations migrating across Asia the land bridge, and then down into the Americas. I find it more plausible that the languages could have similarities but to be able to say concretely that they are branches of each other, so apache's are just Mongols that got lost seems like a leap in logic to me.
Edit and all that hinges on a solid belief in the theory that native Americans are people who crossed on the land bridge in the first place .
Land bridge is American mythology. People never stopped migrating from Siberia into the Americas. They have always crossed by boats across the small waters between.

A lot of mixed native blood fighters itt, a good full blooded Injun fighter (not that there's many left) is Ponce De Leone, ironically named after one of the guys who probably killed some Indians, comes from a tribe called these guys https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rarámuri_people , known for living in high altitudes and being able to run long distances at a time, which would explain why Ponce always had really good cardio, never seemed to gas. Pretty interesting imo.

Greatest truly indigenous fighter would have to be Lionel Rose. Short prime, but man what a prime. He was a stunning boxer who fought one of the best fights you'll see against bantamweight great Harada. Definitely worth checking that fight out of you havent seen it.
