Dang good question. Man..... Going with Mirko Crocop just because I am old school and his run in Pride at the end was epic. But Stipe is closing in fast. If he beats.... Ngannou. Might be the best UFC Heavyweight Champion ever.

While Stipe is a great fighter and an ethnic Croat he was born in the USA.

CroCop was a high level police and grew up in Croatia. We watched him knock people out in Croatian flag shorts. I am for progress but CroCop is still the embodiment of Croatian MMA.

Can you answer a question from a noobier-than-TUF noob? Every time Miocic gets referred to as a Croatian, someone always argues that he shouldn't be called that because he's American. Did Miletich ever get similar grief for calling himself the Croatian Sensation? (I mean, other than people twisting it into the Croatian Sedation.)

people say stipe has the better wins but, I'd take his (Mirko's) wins over Barnett over any of Stipe's wins. But, Stipe does have a few over current top HW's while Mirko didn't have as many "elite" wins, I think he had a really good resume too.

Stipe is great, but, nobody is moved by him. Mirko captivated audiences and he legitimately has probably the most feared single strike attack in MMA's history. There's nothing quite like a prime Cro Cop LHK.

Gonna have to go with my bias and pick Mirko but, Stipe is a tremendous fighter who I hope grows on people because he is a pretty cool dude.
