people, people, people, we still have the greatest 145 champion in the ufc's history :). The king is still here. Aldo will beheaded again, Edgar will be put in order, and everything will be all about Conor yet again.

Hasn't defended it once... wake up fanboy!

Yeah I can't wait to see Aldo's next fight as he works his way back towards the title shot.

P4P great with no title defenses...

I wonder how much of it is just hype...ya know?

Yeah... No.. Just no...
No one can be the greatest champion with out defending their belt.

Conor Mcgregor title defenses: 0
Jose Aldo title defenses: 7

You're right, the greatest FW champ in history IS still around

conor will take 2 mins to ko Aldo this time. nothing we seen says Aldo has any chance. He is a striker, a far inferior one

The greatest champions don't just win the belt, they defend it. Not saying Conor won't, but Aldo's a far greater champ based on his overall reign right now.

Sadly if Edgar gets the next shot at FW (which he rightfully deserves) Aldo will probably sit out and wait. Can't really see him fighting anyone before the championship fight.

Christopher Esping (MMANytt) had Conor ranked #1 p4p
Bob Emanual (Scripps Howard News Service) had him at #2 p4p
Ariel Shnerer (Fight Network) also had him at #2 p4p

Several voting panelists had him at #3, and the majority had him in the top-5.
Many have current defending champs outside the top-10.

Christopher Esping still has TJ Dillashaw at #5.

These are the people determining where UFC fighters are ranked.

Conor Mcgregor title defenses: 0
Jose Aldo title defenses: 7

Nine, if you consider his WEC defenses as well (and I think they should be considered).

Aldo.
Even Faber has a better 145 legacy than McGregor.

Please...just stop!

Come back and post in a year after he fights in his own division a few more times...don't worry, we'll wait

You obviously know nothing about MMA.

Here's why...

The division is 13 years old technically the WEC was where the FW division began. Cole Escovedo had the first title and defended it once - then the title wasn't up for grabs until 07 again. Faber defended it several times, and even Mike Brown did. Jose then grabbed it, and defended it 2 times in the WEC and defended it 7 in the UFC.

Jose beat Frankie Edgar, former LW champ over 5 rounds. Finished Chad Mendes is the first, and won a 5 round war with him in one of the greatest fights ever. He beat Kenny Florian who started his career at MW! Naturally a 155-170 type guy. KO'd Cub Swanson in seconds, destroyed Faber to win the title. Alongside beating Zombie with a broken foot, beating a top ranked guy like Lamas.

A little known fact is Jose Aldo never lost at 145 ever! His one odd loss was at LW, which nobody mentions. Then he has a LW KO him, fair play! but let's not look past the facts here.

Conor McGregor has something over Aldo, and that is that he KO'd him at FW, beautiful shot. Is he a better champion than him? no! is he resume better than him? no!

Point proven, argument won.

Nice Casual thread with Conor who has yet to defend his belt and we don't even know if he can get his weight back down to do so. That is casual shit at its best rt there HOMIE

Nope, not when you just claimed McGregor to be a LW.

Argument lost.

He fought the majority of his career at LW lol... have you seen him cutting to FW? You think that's natural? You think the fact he's taller than 99% of the division means that he's naturally supposed to be there?

The man is a Lightweight! The same was Nate is a Lightweight.
