The GGG/Canelo thread made mention of a great fight possibly losing it's appeal by taking too long to happen; either it never happened because interest bled out of it.... or it happened when it no longer mattered.

Wanted to see JuanMa v Gamboa very bad.... both fighters seemed interested in fighting each other, but there was always something to get in the way.

Then Salido got in the way. After Lopez's second loss to Salido (and Gamboa's not as impressive win over PDL (compared to JuanMa's)) no one really cared anymore.

What are some other ones.

Marquez vs Morales comes to mind, but I don't remember the details. If you google it, there are articles confirming the fight for Spring of 2011 and Summer of 2012. It may have even been "confirmed" more times than that.

The classic answer; Lewis vs Bowe.

And I think at that point Bowe would have been motivated and beaten Lewis, who was still showing amateur characteristics.

Yuh vs Chang. Rival Korean networks refused to let them fight each other. Would have been incredible.

Morales wouldn't fight Marquez at his peak and then when Morales wanted the fight later, Marquez decided to snub him in return.

This is one I never knew about.

Oscar missed his chance to TKO Winky

Also, RJJr or Toney vs Eubank or Benn.

I would have loved for some of those fights to happen.... but was there ever serious talk about those?
I always felt that they were content fighting for the WBO. I guess until Benn fought McClellan.

You know what MCPB, I jumped the gun there and just went straight into talked about fantasy match up territory there.

I don't think there were ever any talks of the matchups, unless you want to consider this classic, 90s, UK Saturday night TV as, "negotiating".

On Monday, everyone in school was pissed off with Eubank for not speaking up

Damn thats some straight Muhammad Ali type of talk, with the laugh track in the background and shit.

Bradley/Khan

Dariusz Michalczewski vs Roy Jones Jr. Both guys were in the same division claiming to be THE champ for years and both were basically undefeated. Then both lost and nobody cares anymore.
